An award-winning farm in bucolic South Downs countryside: bright, elegant room-with-a-view, tea on arrival and breakfasts fit for walkers

Read guest comments

You are on the edge of the rolling Meon valley in the South Downs National Park. The approach through hedge-lined lanes is bucolic and the beautifully restored barn sits on a conservation award-winning farm run by John. You have quiet independence in the glorious bothy – a beamed and light space with a big walk-in shower. Find flowers, a comfortable bed and feather and down pillows. Guests are greeted with tea, breakfast is a local or home-grown extravaganza (check out Emma's borage honey) and views are to one of the tallest village church spires in Hampshire.

"We found this B&B excellent with very caring hosts. Both Emma & John could not do enough to make us welcome and our stay, which was for 7 nights, was more than comfortable. The Bothy has been built with a lot of though and with top of the range fittings. Emma made sure we had information of the best eateries in the area with directions on finding them. We will certainly be paying a return visit in the near future."

"The Threshing Barn is a wonderful place to stay be spoilt and relax. The five star accommodation in ‘The Bothy’ is very private and is elegantly furnished to a very high standard with so many thoughtful touches added to help make your stay so enjoyable.. The bathroom is quite superb with everything you could possibly need. Emma and John make sure you have all the information you may need and are extremely thoughtful and helpful. Emma’s breakfasts which she serves in her delightful home are absolutely delicious and beautifully presented and are a super start to the day. We shall return."

"Really super spot- properly rural. Extremely clean and well presented. Comfy bed. Cozy all round. The separate 'bothy' is lovely- very private. Awesome breakfast with local food- quality cereals/jams and meat etc. Emma and John were good company- clearly been doing this a while and enjoy it. Bet it's great in the Summer- little private patio area looked perfect albeit with a quiet road passing by."

"Best B&B. Hope it doesn't get so popular we can't go again. Andy & Honor"

"A delightful place to stay and Emma couldn't have done more for us. Home made biscuits every day and a glass of wine every evening plus a delicious breakfast and a fresh posy of flowers in our room. We stayed in The Bothy and everything was perfect, from the well equipped and spotless bathroom, comfortable bed and charming garden and patio outside the door. Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone."
