Welcome
to the first newsletter of the year from Alastair Sawday Publishing.
Our exciting news is that Go
Slow England will be released next month.
Written by Alastair himself, Go
Slow England is all about taking your
foot off the pedal (unless that pedal happens to be on a bicycle).
Featuring some of England's most exquisite B&Bs, hotels and pubs,
the book is a celebration of the places and people who take their
time to enjoy life at its most enriching. http://goslowengland.wordpress.com The blog has: Alastair's presentation
and book signing dates If you love our Special Places to Stay series then you are going to be ecstatic about Go Slow England! |

Featured properties - British Hotels for Valentine's day and Easter |
|
At Sawday's we pride ourselves on using inspiring and interesting language when describing the properties in our books. Alastair himself ensures that we avoid using clichés or overused words. Being a curmudgeonly sort, one of his pet hates is describing places as 'romantic', which makes it very hard for us to promote places we think are ideal for Valentine's day. So instead here are three places from our British Hotels & Inns book that are ideal for a tender, seductive, sensuous, relaxing, intimate and indulgent night or two away for you and your significant other: |
|
Linthwaite House Hotel & Restaurant Linthwaite is a grand Lakeland country house run in informal style. Everything is a treat: wonderful bedrooms, gorgeous interiors, glorious food and attentive staff. |
|
Wallett's Court Country House Hotel & Spa Gorgeous architectural features; ancient red-brick walls in the drawing room, an oak staircase with worn, shallow steps in the hall and a huge log fire on chilly days. |
|
|
Part pub, part country house, with walls painted in reds and greens and old rugs covering flagged floors, the Lord Poulett gives a glimpse of a 21st-century dream local, where classical design fuses with earthy rusticity. |

Thank you to everybody who took the time before Christmas to complete our survey and congratulations to the people who won one of our Special Places to Stay books. We won't bore you with a whole pile of stats and figures from the survey but the overall impression we got from the results is that you are basically happy with how we are doing things! But many of you also took the time to write to us about other ideas for books you'd like to see in the future. This feedback is absolutely invaluable to us so thank you again. Many of you gave us feedback both about our existing places and new discoveries. This sort of thing is fantastic so keep it coming! To leave feedback on one of the places in our book click here to look up the place, make sure you are logged in and then click on the "Tell us about your stay here" link under the "Next Steps" heading. If you want to recommend a place to us then please click here For a full list of contact options and information click here |

At the Old Farmyard the daffodils are poking their heads through sodden soil. After the wettest of wet winters, spring approaches. New life, new beginnings and time to discover some of the glorious gardens scattered around Britain. Why not order a copy of our British Bed & Breakfast for Garden Lovers? Modern gardens, classical gardens, wild, tamed, lush and spare - our
book has them all, along with exceptional beds and memorable breakfasts.
As an extra incentive we're offering it at half price (plus p&p charges)
if you order it from our website before 9 March 2008. |

Our friends at Rude Health
have put together another offer especially for Sawday's readers - anybody
who places an order from Rude Health during February and March will automatically
get a free bag of delicious Multi Flakes (RRP £2.95). All you need
to do is go the Rude Health website at www.rudehealth.com and add SAWDAYS
in the offer code section when placing your order. |
