Ollerbrook Cottages
Middle Ollerbrook House, Ollerbrook, Edale, Derbyshire
England, United Kingdom
Tucked into the very lovely vale of Edale are three exceptional stone cottages done up in fresh contemporary style. Come for rest and relaxation: the views are stunning, the peace is a balm. Inside are beamed ceilings, stone walls, deep-set windows, log fires, and luxurious towels in sparkling bathrooms – what more could you want? The feel is quirky with a mix of modern and vintage finds, the furniture is stylish – squishy sofas, brass bedsteads – and the fresh flowers, hand-painted shutters, books, films and games add a deliciously friendly feel. Downstairs spaces are open-plan with sleek modern kitchens; bedrooms are upstairs, smallish but with breezy colours and great views. The newest cottage is Wagtail for two, with fabulous fabrics, a little curved stair lined with books and Paula's daughter's artwork on the walls. You could spend the whole day at glorious Chatsworth, or potter in charming Bakewell and Buxton. Or don boots for the Derbyshire peaks; walks start from the door. Return to a glass of wine in your secluded cottage garden as the children play in the paddock. Delightful owner Paula lives next door.
