To stay or to go? So much to do here, and so much to discover beyond! In rolling fields-and-woodland countryside, these cottages are perfectly placed for families. Breton beaches, adventure park, zoo, aquarium and Mont Saint Michel are all within driving distance; and there are free bikes and walks from the door. In two acres of lawned gardens, with trampoline, swings and slides, football and boules and fabulous heated pool, this sprawling row of farm buildings goes right back to the 17th century. Inside you have the best of country cottage living: thick walls, exposed beams, steep wooden stairs (in very old Les Hirondelles), cosy rugs on tiled floors. Bedrooms (upstairs and down) have fresh colours and simple wooden furniture; bathrooms are practical and spacious. A joy are the open-plan living areas where everyone can do their thing – cook, read, play. It's home-from-home comfy with kitchens that are functional and well equipped. Chouettes has a wood-burner; Alouettes an open fire; rustic Hirondelles is the most compact. Susan loves children and is endlessly helpful. Come for a weekend – or longer.
