Steady like the side of a ship

Majestic and strong like a horse’s flanks

But every day it breathes and grows

Never the same from one day to the next

Motionless but impossible to memorise

Every day it seems new and more beautiful

Reassuringly present every morning and every night

Undefeatable yet passive and quiet
