One of the first truly self-contained B&Bs. A beautiful, peaceful, romantic escape, and Rupert’s own very fine produce for DIY breakfast

Biscuits, scones, sweet vases of hedgerow flowers. Breakfasts are left for you to cook and come courtesy of Rupert’s Tamworth pigs and happy hens; bread and jams are homemade, wellies and waxed jackets are on tap. Rupert is a busy farmer and designer who chooses to give guests what he would most like himself. So… you have the whole of the stables, tranquil, beautifully restored and with field and sky views. Downstairs is open-plan, with kitchen and log-burner; up are sloping ceilings, wooden floors, big bed, soft towels. It’s cosy yet spacious, stylish yet homely, and the Atlantic coast is the shortest drive.

"Superb accommodation, very clean, beautiful decor, cosy and comfortable. Excellent and plentiful breakfast ingredients provided for you to cook at your leisure, and a well equipped kitchen area too. Rupert is extremely helpful and friendly, you immediately feel welcome and know that he will do all he can to help you enjoy your stay. Dogs are made very welcome too - which isn't always the case with this type of high quality accommodation. Beautiful countryside and coast, great walks. "

"Beautifully presented, clean and great attention to detail with lots of Rupert's art work on view! A marvellous mix between B & B and self-catering which was perfect for our stay to attend a local wedding. Beautiful peaceful setting and very spacious accommodation with first class food provided. We would definitely recommend Leworthy Barton!"

"Another successful Alistair Sawday’s ‘Special escapes’. We’ve been sampling their B/B’s and self -catering places for years. Absolutely loved the stylish, converted stables with slate floors and shelves, internal oak windows, hand painted accessories and log burner for chilly evenings. Being able to cook our own delicious break-fast, in our own kitchen, at our convenience is a wonderful idea, all produce kindly supplied by Rupert’s (Tamorth pigs) and farm, and on top - scones, jam, butter, cream and organic milk - a first time find - definitely pleased us. Add central heating; a comfortable bed, enormous bathroom with rain shower, stable door opening to lovely views, not to mention the wax jackets and wellies, supplied for any impromptu walks. Thank you for everything, it’s been a great short break. Pat & Gareth Morris, Llanelli. South Wales. Sept 2011"
