Peace, seclusion and privacy in abundance. An immaculate Regency house decorated in deep warm colours, superb hospitality, a lovely garden

Peace and privacy at this immaculate Regency house in a Somerset valley. First-floor bedrooms are traditionally grand, attic rooms are smaller but pretty; those in the coach house have a more modern feel. Rich colours prevail, fabrics are flowery and linen best Irish. You'll feel as warm as toast and beautifully looked after. A stone staircase goes right to the top where the observatory lets in cascading light; the flagged hall, high ceilings, long windows and private tables at breakfast create a country-house hotel feel. The lovely garden has black swans on a lake, hundreds of trees and a terrace from which to drink it all in.

"We took all 9 rooms for a family event nearby. Everyone was delighted with the Lynch. The rooms were very well stacked and presented. The staff couldn't have been kinder and even accommodated 5 extra guests for a splendid breakfast. We would all recommend this lovely house without reservation."

" We booked the whole hotel for a family wedding in Somerton. Mike and the team were very helpful and made our stay a pleasure. The rooms and breakfast are all superb. We will stay there again when we visit family in the area. We recommend it heartily. John Champion"

"Our stay was cut short by the floods which was a great shame since this is a most comfortable and welcoming B&B. We stayed in the annexe, which was quiet and very well appointed, and enjoyed an excellent breakfast in the grander surroundings of the main house. We plan to return when the weather gets better since it is ideally placed for exploring the delights of Somerset. Highly recommended."

"A lovely Grade II listed Georgian House. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and well appointed with views over the lawn and surrounding countryside. One of the best hotels and B&B's we have ever stayed in. Breakfast was excellent. Thoroughly recommended."

"Excellent B&B, beautiful location, beautiful house, very friendly staff. More like a luxury boutique hotel than a B&B. Warm and comfortable room, fine fixtures and fittings, luxurious white towels and bath robes, free wifi. Fantastic freshly cooked breakfast to order and served in the elegant orangery so that one can watch the black swans and ducks whilst tucking in."

"We had a wonderful stay at The Lynch Country House. Impressive Georgian house, set in picturesque grounds. Warm, friendly hosts, superb rooms, luxurious comfortable four poster bed, topped off with a beautiful, quality breakfast. Would recommend in a heartbeat. Richard & Karen"

"My family and I stayed in excellent accommodation in the coaching house. The breakfast was specially made for us (two vegetarians and one meat-eater) and was very good indeed. The extensive gardens were peaceful and we were made to feel welcome right from the start. A great place to bear in mind. The little town of Somerton is very pleasant."

"Accomodation in the Coach House was perfect. Comfortable bed, access to garden from bedroom, quiet and spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfasts served by willing and informative married couple. Mr Roy Copeland, the owner, was very proud of his beautiful garden(an arboretum of interesting species)and also his musicianship as a leading saxophonist/clarinetist in the 50s/60s.Will return."

"A gem in the small, pretty town of Somerton. Really friendly welcome from Mike the manager and from owner Roy Copeland. The rooms are extremely comfortable and decorated and fitted to a very high standard, everything oozes quality, the beds are absolutely huge and extremely comfortable. Highlight for me was the breakfast - magnificent grub, huge choice, again all very high quality, in a lovely bright room with superb views of the grounds. My stay was driven by needing to deal with a family matter and somewhat stressful, but going back to the Lynch at the end of the day really helped me wind down. I'm already looking at dates for a relaxing break in the autumn!"

"Greeted by Chris on arrival, we also had the pleasure of meeting proprietor Roy Copeland before being shown to our room where Mike was adding the finishing touch - a bottle of champagne on ice, requested by email just a few hours earlier, to surprise my husband on his birthday. On Chris's recommendation, we enjoyed a delicious supper at the Market Bar & Bistro in the town square, just minutes away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lynch Country House and recommend it wholeheartedly."
