"In the cold grey winter Paris Martine's little flat was the cosiest haven imaginable. It is so central it is laughable. Almost everywhere is walkable, most of it only minutes away. If you love food it is surrounded by cafes, specialist food shops and cookery shops, all dangerously close. Martine gave us a cookery lesson and a food shopping trip both of which were inspiring, and fistfuls of top tips about the best hidden places, close but off the beaten track. She and the little flat were the recipe for a perfect holiday. Thank you Martine. "

"Martines apartment was an incredible find. It was in an oasis of calm,the courtyard was cobbled with lots of well looked after potted planting. The apartment was clean and very welcoming with good furniture and a really comfotable bed lots of quirky interesting lighting and best of all in a very cold mid January warm. We were spoilt for restaurants the choice on the apartments doorstep was amazeing. Plus the boulangerie to die for..We walked to most museums etc. a thirty minute walk got you to most places plus you saw bits of Paris you'd never see on the Metro !"

"A gem of an apartment close to all the sights but where one enjoys a Parisian neighborhood. Charming decor, all you could require, comfortable, with wonderful amenities. Everything you could need just outside of the courtyard - shops, restaurants, transport - a wonderful alternative to the anonymity of a hotel."

"Wonderful studio apartment located just on edge of "monumental" Paris but in a residential area with small shops and restaurants. Apartment has alll one could want for self-catering well equipped and immaculately clean and comfortable. And I could walk everywhere from it - museums, shops, sights. Martine is most gracious hostess-although I did not avail myself of such it was a comfort knowing that I could have had the larder stocked prior to my arrival, etc. P.S. Friend joined me for part of the time and flat is very suitable for two unmarried persons."

"Set at the rear of a quiet courtyard, Martine's apartment has lovely decor, a very well appointed kitchen, and a convenient washer/dryer, and, no stairs - such a relief with luggage. The location is excellent - one can walk to the 4th, 6th, 1st, all is near. Martine's English is excellent and she is very helpful with great restaurant advice. A generous welcome basket helps one get started with coffee, wine, and other nice presents. "

"We stayed at Rue d'Argout and from the moment we arrived and were greeted until we left, we were charmed by the apartment. The area was wonderful and varied. In the midst of delicious food, either eating out or cooking in, close to all Paris' amazing sights,and in such surroundings that you felt part of Paris, not just a tourist. Martine was so helpful with everything, from our booking, local recommendations, and just checking in with us regularly to see if any problems. A genuine experience to be remembered."

"Marvelous small apartment in the middle of the 2nd Arr.; lively outside, quiet inside -- the best of all worlds. Perfect for a couple. Close to RER travel to/from CDG. Martine is indeed a jewel and cares greatly about her renters. We loved it and will stay there again!"

"We had a lovely time staying at this charming little apartment. The location is excellent, my husband could not believe how 'well' I have done at choosing this place! It is right at the heart of everything. The Louvre, Notre Dame, Les Halles, Marais, the Latin Quarter and Pompidou centre are all within easy walking distance. We had our ten year old daughter with us, who was rather ho hum about staying in a self catering apartment (she always enjoyed the buffet breakfast spread given at hotels). However, she ended up loving the whole experience, including the sofa bed she slept in. I myself was so relieved for not having to wait until seven or eight in the evening to have dinner as the cooking facilities at the apartment is superb. As you know, restaurants open rather late for young tummies. Children normally are hungry by six pm latest (especially after travelling the whole day) and can turn into grumpy little monsters. We are already planning to go back again next year. Martine was very helpful and prompt in her dealings. Roberta who met us at the apartment was most kind and accommodating too. All and all, a very lovely experience and the people involved are very nice too, which was an extra bonus."

"We have returned to the Cévennes after a magical week in Paris, and I write to thank you for the privilege of using your apartment for much of that time. We were made to feel most welcome and quickly discovered that not only did your apartment - a real haven of peace - contain everything we needed for a comfortable stay (including sharp kitchen knives, a rarity in a rental property!), but it was also perfectly positioned for everything we wanted to do in central Paris. We walked everywhere - Jardin des Tuileries, Rive Gauche and the Marais district, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of each district we passed through. On the practical side, the district in which the apartment is situated contains all a human being would reasonably need to bring comfort to body and soul after a hard day's tourism: a super bakery, greengrocery and mini-supermarket, as well as some good restaurants. No big-city anonymity here - we found the area hugely welcoming and fascinating. In short, a very rewarding trip, which we look forward to repeating when we've earned a few more pennies! John Cross"

"The appartment is perfect for couples. It is quiet, well equipped and spottlessly clean. It is in a great area for exploring the city within walking distance to the Louvre and Pompidou. The area itself is lovely with a good choice of cafes and food shops - perfect for foodies. Martine makes sure your stay is one to remember."

"This apartment was perfect for my husband and I. Great kitchen, great bathroom, very calm atmosphere, nice view into the courtyard, and great location. Thanks Martinne for a perfect place!"

"My husband and I stayed in Martine’s apartment in October. We had stayed with Martine at her chambre d’hote at Maubourguet in September, and so were expecting good things of her apartment. We weren’t disappointed! Although the apartment is small, it is lovely and very comfortable for two people. It has great appliances ( especially the washing machine and dryer) and is tastefully furnished- very elegant and cosy. We have previously stayed on the left bank in Paris, but really loved the area of Rue d”Argout . Rue Montorgeuil is 5 minutes walk and has a supermarket and many eating places. However, we preferred Rue Montmartre . Rue d’Argout comes off Rue Montmartre. We had a lovely meal at Le Tambour in this street. There are elegant shops and it is very close to the old site of Les Halles and the church of St Eustache. The apartment is very secure and we were greeted by Martine’s friend , Roberta- a lovely lady. Overall, I hesitate doing this review as I want the apartment to be available for our next Paris stay."
