Gaze at Luberon's mountain scenery from pool, pétanque or private patio: all is gorgeous, tree-hugged and quiet. And Tintin guards breakfast

Be inspired by the views, which sweep from pool and dining terrace over vineyards, orchards and fields to breezy Mont Ventoux: plan walks or cycle rides through Provençal villages. The house sprawls in the steep Bonnieux hills, a stroll from the village, tree-wrapped in rural peace – play pétanque before dinner. New owners, back from Réunion, are busy with a veg garden, cartoon collections (Captain Haddock guards the breakfast buffet) and looking after guests; tips range from hikes to markets to Michelin-star restaurants. Rooms have private patios, space for extra beds and a shared kitchen and laundry.

"Spotlessly clean spacious room overlooking lovely views. Modern bathroom. Appreciated our own terrace where we could eat salads prepared in guests' kitchen. Great to meet fellow guests over superb breakfasts. Owners very friendly & helpful. Would really recommend this delightful B&B."

"Les Terrasses is in a stunning setting in the Luberon hills. We spent a wonderful three days with Jean Marc and Marie Laure who are the perfect hosts. The accommodation lived up to our expecctations and I would recommend this chambre d'hote without hesitation."

"We have just returned from a five night stay at Les Terrasses du Luberon. We would highly recommend it. This is an excellent place to stay with sweeping views over the Luberon. Bonnieux itself is an excellent jumping off point for Provence and the house is a convenient 10 minute walk from the village. Jean Marc and Marie Laure are charming hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation itself is very beautiful and has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. There are five bedrooms that each face the veranda and the view over the Luberon valley. Each room has its own secluded seating area with a table, chairs and lounger that overlooks the view. There is a kitchen for the exclusive use of guests which is equipped with a kettle, fridge and microwave and good quality crockery. The entrance to the kitchen is from a glass covered conservatory that has tables and chairs and a view of the valley. You can sit and have a snack in comfort if the weather is against you. The bedrooms have been newly refurbished to a very high standard and are tastefully decorated. The beds are new and new bathrooms have been installed in all the bedrooms with a walk in overhead shower. The towels and bed linen are excellent quality. The rooms also have WiFi and each room has a TV. Jean Marc and Marie Laure are lovely and very helpful. Jean Marc speaks really good English. Breakfast takes place in the guest dining room which has a picture window and a view over the valley. Breakfast was very good and in addition to croissants and delicious bread from the baker there was the option to have ham, cheese and a boiled egg as well as yoghurt. There is a nice selection of jams including Marie Laure’s home-made fig jam. Be aware that a lot of restaurants close in Bonnieux on a Wednesday evening so it would be good to make a reservation. Jean Marc will be happy to do that for you. He also has a torch you can borrow to walk into the village at night since the road is a bit dark."

"Views from Les Terrasses of Mt Ventoux are beautiful - sitting on the patio drinking gin and tonics before sauntering into Bonnieux for an evening meal was perfection. Jean Marc and Marie Laure are delightful, friendly and helpful hosts; breakfasts are delicious and relaxing taken on the upper terrace if warm. The large pool is clean and also has great views. We had a great 2 days here - totally recommended."
