At Sawday’s we don’t follow the masses. Our special places don’t always conform, nor do we have a list of do’s and don’ts. What we do have is a love of authenticity, of kindness and generosity, of conversations at the kitchen table, to name a few.

If you’ve been somewhere really special, where you feasted on a lovingly-prepared meal, the friendly owner went the extra mile or you simply enjoyed a little piece of heaven in the perfect spot, we want to hear about it.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The competition is to win a 2-night bed and breakfast stay for 2 people at College Farm in Norfolk to be taken by 01 July 2014. All other meals, transport and other costs are not included in the prize and are the responsibility of the prize winner.
  2. This competition is open to everyone aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Sawday's (with the exception of Sawday’s Owners and Inspectors), Canopy & Stars, College Farm and their immediate families, their agents or anyone else professionally associated with this promotion.
  3. To enter, entrants must complete the mandatory fields on the competition entry form.
  4. To qualify for the competition, a recommended place must officially accept an invitation to join Sawday’s, be inspected and live on www.sawdays.co.uk. Alastair will choose his favourite from the recommended places that join Sawday’s.
  5. Multiple entries are welcome, but recommendations for places that are already listed on www.sawdays.co.uk or in any Sawday’s guide will not be considered. If the same place is recommended several times, only the first recommendation will qualify for entry.
  6. Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted.
  7. Sorry, no cash alternative will be offered and the prize is non-transferable.
  8. No purchase is necessary for entry to this free competition.
  9. The closing date is 30/04/2013 at 11.59am. The winner will be picked by Alastair Sawday by 31 August 2013. The winner will be notified within 7 days of being selected.
  10. Entry is exclusively via www.sawdays.co.uk.
  11. The winner may not use the prize in conjunction with any other offer, promotion or prize draw.
  12. The prize is subject to availability and the Promoter reserves the right to change the prize to an alternative of similar value without notice if circumstances beyond their control require it to do so.
  13. The Promoter reserves the right to reject fraudulent entries. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed due to technical problems.
  14. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any technical issues, system or software failures encountered on www.sawdays.co.uk during entry into the promotion. We try to ensure the standard of the site remains high but we cannot be held responsible for interruptions of service. The Promoter reserves the right to suspend temporarily the operation of the site without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for any other reason beyond its control. You are responsible for all Internet connection costs charged by your service provider. If you do not pay the bill please get permission from the person who does.
  15. Neither the Promoter, Alastair Sawday Publishing, nor agencies involved in this promotion will be liable for loss or damage whatsoever caused by matters arising from this promotion.
  16. The winner may be required to take part in any publicity accompanying or resulting from the main prize draw. No compensation shall be awarded for such participation.
  17. The winner’s name and county may be posted on social media and will also be available after the closing date by sending an SAE to The Old Farmyard, Yanley Lane, Long Ashton, Bristol BS41 9LR, United Kingdom.
  18. The entry instructions form part of the Terms & Conditions. By entering, entrants agree to accept and be bound by the Terms & Conditions. Entrants must read and accept the website Terms & Conditions and Privacy Statement to be eligible.
  19. English law applies and the English Courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any proceedings in connection with this promotion.
  20. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
