The
Experience

A small, friendly, boutique B&B hotel in the epicentre of trendy Brighton. The beach and the pier are a two-minute walk, the bars and restaurants of St James Street are around the corner. An open-plan sitting room/dining room comes in cool colours with big suede sofas, fairy lights in the fireplace and ever-changing art on the walls. Bedrooms at the front are big and fancy, with huge padded headboards that fill the wall and deluge showers in sandstone bathrooms. Those at the back may be smaller, but so is their price and they come with spotless compact showers; if you’re out more than in, why worry? All rooms have fat duvets, white linen, flat-screen TVs and DVD/CD players; the lower-ground king-size has its own whirlpool bath and garden. Richard and Simon are easy-going and happy for guests to chill drinks in the kitchen (there are corkscrews in all the rooms). Breakfast, served late at weekends, includes pancakes, the full English or sautéed tarragon mushrooms on toast. Good food waits on your doorstep: Riddle and Finns, The Salt Rooms, an Italian restaurant up the road. Fabulous Brighton waits.

Reviews

lovely room and excellent welcome. location close from center, however not noisy.

Philippe & sophie, Paris

Very comfortable, and nothing too much trouble for our very accommodating hosts.. Brightonwave is in a central location and on-street parking could conceivably be a problem, but permits are available on arrival, and in the event parking was not an issue. Within easy walking of dozens of eateries —recommended: English's Seafood Restaurant and Oyster Bar.

Location

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Richard Adams & Simon Throp

  • The famous Royal Pavilion is just a 5 minute walk from us.
  • The Lanes are a great place to shop and eat, with many independent stores not found on the high street.
  • The Brighton Festival is held in May with hundreds of events including the 4 week fringe and 3 day Great Escape music festival.
  • Brighton offers plenty of nightlife and all within a few minutes walk.
  • The new I360 British Airways 162 metre observation tower opens in June 16, promising to offer fantastic views over the city and far beyond.
  • Relax on the Brighton Pier and look back on views along the seafront. Some of the best fish and chips are served in the Palm Court restaurant or enjoy the takeaway walking along the pier but watch out for seagulls!
