Small and pretty and wrapped in beautiful country, Trustwood stands in peaceful gardens with National Trust woods at the end of the lane. Outside, sweetpeas flourish to the front, while lawns run down behind to a copse where bluebells thrive in spring. Inside, warm, fresh, contemporary interiors are just the ticket: super bedrooms, fabulous bathrooms, and a wood-burner and sofas in the sitting room. Free-range hens provide eggs for delicious breakfasts, Lin accounts for the lovely scones. As for the Wirral, much more beautiful than you probably imagine; coastal walks, botanic gardens and the spectacular Dee estuary all wait.

A warm welcome from both Lin and Pete, first class comfort and wonderfully fresh, healthy food. So many little touches made our stay special, from fresh flowers in the rooms and milk in the fridge, to the beautiful setting in their lush garden. A big thank you to them both (and to the chickens).

Judith, North lincs

Lovely, very quiet and very comfortable, warm welcome and delicious breakfasts. Very convenient for Chester by train! We look forward to a return visit.
