The Experience

You’ll fall in love with the views from this sweet cottage on the edge of Coverack. Soak up every drop of sun on the south facing terrace or cosy up in front of the open fire. It’s an easy-going family escape: a huge box of toys in the sitting room  and a play park beneath the terrace so you can watch the kids run free.

Stroll down to The Lifeboat House for fish and chips on the quay, Paris Hotel for a pint or pop into one of the two cafés and the village shop – open every day. Wine and chocolates are left to get you started.

You’re minutes from the Coast Path for cliff top walks or take your pick of the beaches: Coverack Beach, a few minutes’ walk behind the cottage, is huge and Mears Beach is a 15-minute walk further along the coast path. Kynance Cove is stunning but gets busy in the summer; try Lankidden Cove (3 miles along the coastal path) or Kennack Sands, 1.5 miles further and has a café.

Reviews

This is the perfect coastal retreat if you want to avoid the car on holiday - tiny Coverack with its pretty harbour, two beaches and lots of great places to eat is a minute's walk down the hill. I loved the old flagstones, the exposed granite walls, the lovely terrace for eating al fresco in summer and the huge windows in the living room for storm watching in winter.

Emma, Oxford

We stayed at Battery Cottage over the festive period and had a wonderful, restful stay. The cottage is cosy and in a beautiful spot overlooking the cove. Coverack is a lovely village; great pub and shop and on New Year’s Eve the villagers set off fireworks. It’s a great place to be…we’ll be back.

Hazel, Bristol

Beautiful cottage, spacious but cosy, with amazing views and on the coast path. We loved waking up and falling asleep to the sound of the sea, morning coffee on the terrace after a swim in the bay (with a seal one day!) bracing coastal walks exploring little bays along the way and fish and chips in the harbour. It was a much needed tonic for mind, body and soul- thank you Victoria for sharing your special cottage, we will be back.

Vivienne, Farnham

We keep returning to Battery Cottage, its superb position and extremely cosy and comfortable decor draws us back time after time. The cottage’s proximity to the coast path is on your doorstep and along with the beautiful Coverack beach, it makes for the perfect break. We’ve been able to watch seals from the kitchen and Cornish chuffs from the garden's wall, a real home from home cottage.

Nadine, Hamburg

We loved every minute of our stay at Battery Cottage.  I don’t know what we were thinking to only book for a week!  Lovely gesture to be provided with a welcome package, including clotted cream.  Coverack and the surroundings are such special places – we’d never want to leave if we could and will be back for sure!

Location

The neighbourhood

There's heaps to do without getting in a car: hop on the South West Coast Path at the bottom of the terrace for a 12-mile walk to Helston which takes in dramatic cliffs, fishing villages, woodland and a creek crossing. Coverack has a strong community feel with cafés and a pub and the beach is perfect for picnicking. Roskilly's farm is a 10-minute drive for ice creams and a gallery.

Introducing

Victoria Reynolds

Victoria lives and works in London but tries to escape here as often as possible with her three boys - she's been visiting this part of Cornwall for years and has immersed herself in the community. She has a good eye for design and has made the house feel beautifully and comfortably homely. You let yourself in but there's a local lady in the village should you need anything.
