The
Experience

Up a narrow street, one row back from the sea, this powder blue Georgian house is just the backdrop for happy gatherings of friends or families. There might be a tussle for the cavernous main bedroom with its freestanding bath, but ultimately everyone will be happy in their own whiter-than-white retreat.

The twin fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand straggle around three beaches – dip in rock pools and try the two kayaks provided, then wander happily through traffic-free streets between pocket money shops and ice cream parlours.

Return for a barbecue in the child and dog-safe courtyard garden or congregate around a choice of dining tables. Sofas by the wood-burner beckon for after dinner drinks or a cosy movie.

Reviews

Blue Monkey deserves every one of it’s five stars! Comfortable, incredibly clean, beautifully decorated and fantastically well equipped - you’ve thought of everything thank you! The Rame Peninsula is peaceful and unspoilt and the car friendly village makes it safe for dogs and children alike. Thank you for a magical holiday.

Duncan, Southampton

Lovely week, with three generations of the family able to enjoy the holiday. The Blue Monkey was very well equipped, which added to a carefree, happy trip away.

Abby, London

We stayed at Blue Monkey for a week with our 2 young boys and 2 dogs - absolute heaven!!! Wonderful welcome goodie pack on arrival, super comfy beds, luxurious baths, beautiful interior decor, stones throw from the beach, wonderful pubs on tap, BBQ and lovely garden to relax with in the evenings - loved our stay! Highly recommend local coastal walks along Rame head and the Minnedew (not sure of spelling). Only regret not getting a baby sitter organised to enjoy the Davenport pub or the View for evening drinks and a meal! Very luxurious with a lovely warm homely feel! Thank you!!!

Sarah, London

Couldn't fault the house in any way, it had everything we needed for a stress free week away with the three under 4 & four over 60!

Tanya, Penarth

We loved our trip to Blue Monkey, this is our 4th visit and cant wait for the next trip. The house is immaculate and welcoming and perfect for a stay with the children, very child friendly with toys, games, tv recordings, very very quiet street, or for a weekend with friends. Would totally recommend a visit!

James, London

We were down at Blue Monkey for a long weekend recently. It's my second trip there and while the weather never seems to play ball, the house and location are just idyllic - we saw everything from tidal waves to crystal clear sunrises within hours of each other. The house has everything you could ever want and great coastal walks/runs in all directions.

Lucas, London

Had a wonderful week at Blue Monkey perfect for our family of 7 even when it rained! Our second visit and not our last.

Wendy

Superbly equipped and beautifully decorated house, perfect for extended families with small children and dog-friendly as well. Three beaches are just moments away -- as are three pubs! Our group of six adults, four young children and a dog thought the Blue Monkey was heavenly.

Nancy

Perfect for a holiday with dogs and young families. The house is a dream - beautifully clean and very welcoming and homely. The village is car free so it is also quiet and relaxing. The beaches round about are beautiful and the coastal path is a fantastic walk. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Araminta

Stayed with young family and had a fantastic relaxing week. Accommodation really is luxury with amazing master bedroom and ensuite. Very well equipped with pretty much everything you need for small kids. Great location very near beaches and great pubs

Location

The neighbourhood

Kingsand and Cawsand are on the often-overlooked Rame Peninsula, a beautiful corner of Cornwall’s coast just past the border with Devon but well off the main roads. Aside from the villages’ own beaches, there’s a four mile stretch of sand a mile away over the peninsula at Whitsand Bay, well-loved by surfers and bodyboarders and home to highly-regarded restaurant The View. For a complete change of pace, the ferry from Cawsand beach will whisk you over to Plymouth and its endless shopping and nightlife options in half an hour.
