The Experience

This new conversion behind Pippa and Hugo’s lovely B&B has a contemporary feel, a generous amount of space for everyone and views over open fields to the sea.

You’ll feel completely private here. Read a book on the squishy sofa, play games or choose a DVD from the collection in the main house; the back terrace gets the evening sun. Your foodie hosts leave a welcome hamper that includes local butter, milk, eggs and biscuits, plus bacon, sausages and Hugo’s Breakfast Cereals – so good they’re now sold in shops all over Cornwall.

The kitchen is a chef’s dream, kitted out well enough to create a three-course gourmet feast, or you can light up the barbecue and dine al fresco while you enjoy the views. Wander into Padstow for good delis, restaurants and cafes – your hosts will happily advise on the best places to go – and there are wineries, cycle routes and beaches nearby.

Reviews

You'll find a wonderfully warm welcome at Gurney House - you're in an annexe to the main house, but you'll feel very private. Windows look over fields to the sea and the fresh, light interiors make for a relaxing space to chill out. I loved the generous welcome goodies and although self-catering, you can book into the main house for a fabulous breakfast!

Introducing

Hugo & Pippa Woolley

Hugo and Pippa live in the main house with their sweet little dog and have a very open and easy manner. They’re a fountain of local and especially foodie knowledge and are happy to chat as little or as much as you like. Hugo was a London restauranteur and Pippa a caterer, and they moved to Cornwall from Tunbridge Wells in 2002 to run a B&B, something Pippa has always wanted to do.
