Sue’s warm welcome and cream teas set the tone – you’ll feel relaxed and happy, even if you’ve had to queue behind a tractor for a while to get here. This is a chocolate box cottage in a proper Cornish village.
The house is cosy too. Bedrooms have uneven white walls, quilts on beds, fresh flowers from the garden and distant sea views. After a peaceful night Sue lays on a great breakfast: tuck into homemade bread, muffins and preserves, local eggs and bacon, in the dining room, the conservatory, or out on the sunny patio.
Stroll to join the coastal path in either direction, pick up a map to find the best secret coves. Return to a home-cooked dinner from Sue if you ask ahead, or walk half a mile to the foodie pub, Cubert’s.
