A romantic retreat in the heart of Cornish fishing-village heaven. The pretty 1840 cottage, part of a terrace of three, has stone steps up to the front door; walk in to the ground floor living area with painted floorboards, wood-burner, natural driftwood shelving and an authentic seaside feel. Upstairs: another chic living area with sea views opens into the main bedroom with its big snowy white bed and double aspect windows; your peace will only be interrupted by the jolly cry of seagulls. Cooks will love the handmade kitchen with its sleek, black slate worktops, top-notch pots and pans, and beautiful crockery. From here, narrow stairs lead down to a cosy little second bedroom – perfect for one – and the bathroom with heated black slate floor. A small door on this floor opens onto the lane and a sun-dappled terrace garden with views across rooftops and a shed filled with garden furniture. The coastal path runs through the village and there are heaps of good restaurants and pubs. Boating by arrangement, and a massage too if you fancy indulging. A true gem.
