The
Experience

A romantic retreat in the heart of Cornish fishing-village heaven. The pretty 1840 cottage, part of a terrace of three, has stone steps up to the front door; walk in to the ground floor living area with painted floorboards, wood-burner, natural driftwood shelving and an authentic seaside feel. Upstairs: another chic living area with sea views opens into the main bedroom with its big snowy white bed and double aspect windows; your peace will only be interrupted by the jolly cry of seagulls. Cooks will love the handmade kitchen with its sleek, black slate worktops, top-notch pots and pans, and beautiful crockery. From here, narrow stairs lead down to a cosy little second bedroom – perfect for one – and the bathroom with heated black slate floor. A small door on this floor opens onto the lane and a sun-dappled terrace garden with views across rooftops and a shed filled with garden furniture. The coastal path runs through the village and there are heaps of good restaurants and pubs. Boating by arrangement, and a massage too if you fancy indulging. A true gem.

Reviews

Caroline has made this beautiful cottage the perfect retreat & from the moment we arrived we felt totally relaxed and at home ..The cottage has everything you could need and the special touches and goodies provided, Prosecco, breads, cheeses and the gorgeous toiletries all make it that much more special.. It is so clear that Caroline genuinely cares passionately about her guests having a great time and was always available should we need anything. We were so sad to leave and can't wait to return ! Thank you Caroline

We've been home a week now and we are constantly reliving the wonderful time we spent in Mousehole but most of all the lovely stay at No5. It was unbelievably good so comfortable and cosy with everything you could possibly need. Beautifully decorated, ideally situated for visits to Minnack theatre, Lands end and those numerous gorgeous Cornish beaches. Good local food within easy walk, Caroline was generous and so kind ensuring all was well with us and leaving a delicious welcome box. We would definitely recommend a stay at No 5 at anytime of the year even a cold winters weekend!

No 5 is a perfect retreat in Mousehole. A real gem. Beautifully decorated and furnished and with Caroline being the perfect host with information and always there to answer any queries we had. Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable and being accepting of our big hairy dog Pam

We loved our stay at no 5 Location, comfort decor and personal touches were all first rate. The cottage is minutes from a great restaurant and the idyllic harbour. Furthermore it is truly dog friendly without compromising on aesthetics or cleanliness. Thank you Caroline!

Clare, Cranbrook

Super cottage and a great base for exploring. No. 5 was a real home from home with a well equipped kitchen for nights in. Great places to eat within walking distance and a short drive from supermarkets for cosy nights in. Superb hostess with great taste.

Tracey

An absolutely beautiful cottage which the owner, Caroline has finished to the highest quality, and with impeccable taste..It was lovely to arrive and have bubbly and glasses chilling in the fridge( along with lots of other treats for us and lil our jack Russell) We ve stayed at many holiday cottages, but this has been one of the most tasteful and comfortable...plus of course it s in the delightful setting of Mousehole. We really didn't t want to say good bye to it! Thank you so much , Caroline.
