The Experience

Turn off the road down a bumpy lane until you reach the very last house, a weather-boarded seaside cottage of postcard perfection. You’re surrounded by fields of cows and buttercups – it’s alive with birdsong and you can smell the sea on the wind.

Inside, the calming, tongue-and-groove lined spaces allude to artist owner Annie’s childhood on the Norwegian coast – the lovely kitchen is a great place to gather for meals. Annie’s artworks hang on walls and the quality of light in the enclosed veranda makes it a grand spot for staring out over the hills.

A proper plantsman’s garden is a joy, its series of secret spaces providing endless options for dens and kickabouts as well as sundowners by the summerhouse. The immediate area is steeped in magic – it’s a fifteen-minute stomp along to Tintagel Castle and the cove containing Merlin’s Cave.

Annie, your place is a paradise! We loved every bit of the property, location and area points of interest. If we are ever back in Tintagel, we will definitely return to St. Edward’s Cottage as well as highly recommending your property to everyone! Thank you so much for being such a great host and keeper of “Paradise at St. Edwards Cottage"! - Russ, Lois and family

Annie's place is one of those places where you sort of want to keep the secret to yourself! In one word - AMAZING! The house is absolutely gorgeous and has not long been renovated. Everything was impeccable and I especially loved the huge kitchen which opens up onto the beautiful back garden. The beds were super comfortable and we didn't want to leave at the end of our 3 nights. You are literally right at the start of a coastal path and the paddock of calves next door was another highlight - it was such a great mix of country and sea.

Location

The neighbourhood

The hamlet of Bossiney lies on the edge of Tintagel, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s rich in nature and wildlife and you’re bang on the coastal path for walks with spectacular views in either direction. As well as its historic sites, Tintagel offers all the essentials including plenty of cafes and shops.

Local points of interest from Annie Meier

  • Seaside cottage, only a 1 minute stroll from the sea and south west coast path. Set on it's own down a track which only allows access to the coastguard and to the occasional farmer accessing the surrounding fields.
  • Tranquil and stunning 1/2 acre sheltered clifftop garden with a perfect sunny patio and BBQ for outside dining. A great garden for children to play in and create dens- and also to play in the summerhouse!
  • A 15 minute walk to stunning and secluded Bossiney Cove (a wonderful hidden gem) and a 15 minute walk along the coast to Tintagel Castle and the Cove beneath. Also a 10 minute drive to Trebarwith strand, excellent for surfing and very family friendly.
  • A very easy short dash into Tintagel to stock up at the local Butchers, Deli and Greengrocers.
  • The cottage is fully kitted out with a huge kitchen dining area, which leads through glass doors onto a lovely patio surrounded by plants and wildlife. There is also a lovely sitting room with 2 large sofa's and an open fire.
  • The cottage has a lots of Books, games, local guides and maps and DVD's for your use.
