The Experience

Through fields and woodland down a narrow lane lined with mossy stone walls is your three-storey 19th-century cottage. Perfect for a couple seeking a romantic break, it has fresh, mostly white decor and is filled with high-quality furniture and fabrics. Original beams and the wood-burner add character and a homely feel, and the smart kitchen with its top-notch appliances is a great place to relax and cook. If you have a couple of friends in tow the adjoining converted barn is also yours, the two lovely sitting rooms with their wood-burners cleverly linked. Bedrooms – one on the ground floor, one on the top floor of the barn – are light, bright and stylishly furnished with big comfy beds. One has a roll-top bath in the room, en–suite shower room and views over to the woodland beyond, the other a separate shower room and light flooding through a Velux window. You’re in a walker’s paradise here, with Coppermine Valley and Coniston Old Man within strolling distance, but there are also mountain bike trails right by your door, Coniston village with its great pubs is a short stroll away and Coniston Water is close.

Reviews

My husband proposed to me at the cottage 5 years ago! The cottage is BEAUTIFUL - there's absolutely nothing I can fault. Perfectly furnished to an impeccable standard, the cottage is the perfect backdrop for a romantic or peaceful getaway. Can't recommend enough.
