Reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Set in a beautiful Devon valley position, the accommodation is warm and generous and private with a very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast, much of it home grown. Kay and her family could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Access from the main roads is easy. Lovely place to stay.

Simon, Birmingham

We stayed here for a weekend in March. The B&B was gorgeous, location was beautiful and we received a warm welcome! The room and bathroom area was cosy and decorated beautifully, it also felt really private. The breakfast was lovely and Kay and Simon couldn't have done enough to make us feel at home! We loved our trip and didn't want to leave! Thanks for such a lovely and relaxing weekend.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Kay & Simon Wisker

  • Enjoy the lovely garden and soak up the wonderful views across to Haldon Forest. We have plenty of seating and hang out the hammocks amongst the apple trees in spring and summer
  • Hannaford is a 4 acre smallholding with chickens, ducks, pygmy goats, sheep & pigs. There's also Mo - the cheeky Welsh pony and Milo the cute Shetland, together with Spud, Milly & Flo - our friendly working dogs, and not forgetting Brian the farm cat.
  • Just 5 minutes from the house is Haldon Forest with miles of wooded walks and cycle trails (bicycle hire available) for all levels of ability. For the daring there's Go Ape, or let a Segway take the strain for a more leisurely glide through the forest
  • In 20 minutes you can be in the centre of Exeter, seeing the stunning Cathedral, it's museums and the fabulous quay. Exeter Castle and Northenhay Gardens host the excellent Food & Drink Festival every spring and the Christmas Market is not to be missed
  • If water is your thing, Saddles & Paddles hire canoes and bikes, so you can peddle or paddle your way along the towpath and canal to The Double Locks pub for lunch. For those who enjoy a little flutter though, Exeter Racecourse is a couple of miles away!
  • But if you just fancy taking it easy, put your feet up and enjoy the garden with a nice cup of tea, or perhaps take a stroll down to the Orange Elephant Ice Cream Parlour for the very best homemade ice-cream
