The
Experience
Back in the 1830s, this neat white cottage in a sweet North Devon village was the post office. Its thick stone walls have seen centuries of history but inside it’s bang up to date. Crisp, clean and uncluttered, it’s a soothing place to kick your shoes off and relax.Walk to a little shop for croissants in the morning, on dry days you can breakfast in the pretty garden. Walk to spectacular Morte Point, explore the rock pools at Rockham Beach and dine on fresh seafood in Mortehoe’s pubs. This is an all-weather coastal bolthole. Walk straight onto the coastal path or down to the beach, return to a cream tea by the cosy wood-burner. Watch the stars come out from the garden on balmy nights in summer.

Old Post Cottage is unique in many ways: an old building with a very modern and clean touch, very nice own garden and in the center of Mortehoe - the perfect base for relaxing and feeling at home. We will be back in North Devon for sure...

A delightful location for a holiday. Clean, comfortable, and with good facilities, it is very well run by the owner, Emma Knight. Excellent base for walking, with beautiful cliff walks and breath-taking views. Close to Woolacombe Beach - walkable but with a challenging hill if walking back to the cottage. Strongly recommended and we have enjoyed visiting Old Post Cottage for over ten years.

We have just returned from our second stay at Old Post Cottage and can't praise it highly enough. The rooms are beautifully decorated and cosy and you can't beat the location, with beautiful walks and beaches just moments away. Our three year old loved our morning trips to get croissants from the village shop, and was also a big fan of the playground and the big garden behind the cottage. Meanwhile, we enjoyed the village pubs (there are three) and the fact that cots/high chairs etc were all available on site. The owners are incredibly helpful and we'll definitely be back next year!

We've stayed in this cottage three years running now because it's beautiful, homely and in the most fantastic position - amazing beaches and cliff top walks just a few minutes walk away. Children love it, we love it, the owners are lovely to deal with, and we can't wait for a fourth visit.

A beautifully decorated cottage in a stunning location. Kitsch has been evaded and the decor (and cleanliness) was spot on. Location is fabulous, just off the quaint village square, steps away from stunning coastal views. Loads to do in the area and great beaches in the vicinity. Loved it, would definitely return.

Introducing
Emma & Rich Knight
Rich Knight grew up in Mortehoe and the Old Post Cottage has been in his family since the 1950s. He, Emma and their young family continue to use the cottage for their own holidays whenever they can. They love the cottage, Mortehoe and North Devon and enjoy introducing others to this wonderful corner of the world.
Old Post Cottage is a lovely home from home, in the tiny village of Mortehoe. The cottage has two separate bathrooms with showers and toilets, modern kitchen and own garden. A welcome pack of biccies and milk in the fridge was greatly appreciated. The cottage is a great base for exploring the beautiful countryside, everything is close by, a bus stop is handily placed for sightseeing trips.Great for us as we don't have a car and could plan days out. Lundy Isle is magical. Wonderful walks, on your doorstep, Morte Point, and hidden gem Rockham Beach. Old Post Cottage is the perfect place to stay
