The Experience
Find this rustic beach hut a 15-minute walk from your car, down a steep path to your own private beach – the incredible sea views alone make it worthwhile. The brave will want to dip in the bracing sea and warm straight back up in the wood-fired hot tub. Evenings are for cooking dinner on the barbecue and gazing out at the stunning South Devon coast – all you’ll hear is the crackle of flames and the waves crashing against the rocks; or snuggle around the wood-burner on cooler evenings (don’t expect phone signal or internet here). This is a perfect spot for couples (no dogs or children allowed). Climb up to your comfortable bed after a long day of relaxing and find a breakfast hamper for the next morning with all the basics. Order ahead if you want to arrive to a simple evening meal hamper and wine. Head out to find the coast path and more beaches.

Location
The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Dawn Farrow
- The Beach Hut is near to the stunning South West Coast Path and a short walk from nearby coves and beaches - fantastic for explorers of all ages!
- The closest villages are Newton Ferrers & Noss Mayo. These villages are about two miles away, nestled on each side of the River Yealm where the boats float lazily on the water...
- Bigbury-on-Sea is a few miles away, with a cafe open all year round and seasonal life guards. Bigbury also has an amazing sea tractor to take you to Burgh Island when it is cut off by the tide!
- Nearby Carswell Farm is actually made up of three farms - Carswell, Lambside and Caulston. It stretches for nearly 3 miles along the coast and the mild climate means that our cows enjoy fresh sea air and lush green grass all year round!
- Explore the nearby picturesque towns of Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe, visit the historic maritime port of Plymouth to see where the Mayflower set sail to America or enjoy a visit to the famous National Marine Aquarium.
- The beautiful estuary of the River Erme and Mothecombe beach are only a couple of miles from here. With 130 acres of sand at low tide, many well known productions - like 'Sense and Sensibility' and 'Hornblower' have been filmed in this stunning location.
