The Experience

What was a 1601 longhouse is now three cottages and you get the middle one, thatched and perfectly spruced. Come through a latch gate into the garden with raised beds, wiggly paths, lots of grasses and established roses. Round a corner and hidden under a vine-covered gazebo you’ll find a roomy roll top bath, fairy lit at night and perfectly private but you may have to be quiet as there are neighbours.

The kitchen is ample for sociable cooking and has all the gear you need plus, strangely, a pull down double bed hidden in a cupboard for extra bods. There’s a little extra loo down here too. Olive oil, tea, coffee and a vast selection of sun hats are waiting for you, and a bottle of wine. A cosy sitting room has a large fireplace, a coffee table made of old school desks and very comfy seating. Art is original and fun.

Walk your socks off, Andy has dogs and leaves you all the nearby routes. Return to much comfort in the bedrooms.

We think you'll love

  • Lolling about in the roll top bath in the garden, perhaps with a book if you can get it to yourself
  • Being lazy and walking down to the pub, or getting a takeaway from the village - there's a good Chinese apparently

Reviews

Come and spend your days walking in gorgeous countryside with your dog, then return to a very pretty and comfortable house and garden with a good pub in the village. Or cook in the swish kitchen with the stable door open to the garden. Make sure you have a bath in the garden.

Introducing

Andrew Beavers & Shaun Sellings

Shaun studied flute and singing at the Royal College of Music, then started his own company where he met Andy, who had spent many years as a Manager for Premier Inns. They have two lively dogs and live about five miles from the cottage - Andy will most likely meet and greet, or if you come late, will pop in the next day. They are generous souls and really want you to be happy in their cottage.
