A passion for cooking here! The dramatic dining room has church pews at an oak refectory table; the log fire will be lit in winter, and you can eat on the terrace in summer. Hearty breakfasts include bacon and sausages from home-reared pigs, devilled mushrooms or eggs Benedict; Jessica makes the bread and preserves, and there’s always freshly squeezed orange juice. It’s a gorgeous house too – it’s been in Jasper’s family for many years and shines with pretty fabrics, antiques, hand-painted furniture, vintage pieces, rich colours, shelves of books – and seriously comfortable brass beds. Don’t miss the candlelit dinners.
