The Experience

On the edge of a hamlet… a beautifully restored, traditional converted barn. Huge doorways and floor to ceiling timber-framed windows let the light flood in. You have your own entrance and can come and go as you please. Your suite has good linen, plump pillows, flowers and views onto the garden; the roomy bathroom is gleaming. Walk through for breakfast by a log fire in the huge dining hall in the main barn: local sausages and bacon, eggs from the hens on pretty Poole pottery; Amanda is happy to cook dinner too. Badminton Horse Trials are a hop, Cirencester too; return for a wander round the rose garden, and a snooze by the fire.

This was the perfect get away for so many reasons. The hosts Amanda and Richard couldn’t have done more to make my stay comfortable and easy. The accommodation is superb with access to a huge living area, beautifully furnished and totally inspiring. A ‘get away to work trip’ which worked brilliantly in the space provided. The most comfortable bed, the most delicious food and the most stunning surroundings. I shall definitely be back. Thank you

We booked a two-night stay at Ashley Barn in order to visit Highgrove plus enjoy the beautiful area. What an amazing place! Beautiful, massive and comfortable. We were Amanda’s first customers since lockdown eased and everything she put in place to keep us safe was perfect. There was the more-ish tin of home made flapjacks alongside all the things provided to make a hot drink. We could choose to enjoy the delightful gardens on outdoor furniture or the numerous comfortable seats inside. Amanda is a super host-friendly but not fussy, breakfasts superb. Can’t recommend it more highly.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful barn during our visit to Highgrove. Our room was spacious and so comfortable and beautifully decorated with lovely touches of candles in the bathroom and homemade flapjacks! So much nicer than a 5* hotel - lots of local suggestions for visits and amazing places to eat - we loved the Potting Shed.

Fantastic place - superb accommodation & really excellent host in Amanda. Much better than many 5 star hotels. Great fresh breakfast. Beautiful in every way. We will definitely recommend it to all our friends. Top class in every respect. Thank you very much for a fantastic 3 night stay. John & Jane

We had a good idea that Ashley Barn would be a wonderful place to spend a couple of nights after our visit to Highgrove House and it did not disappoint. Our room provided 5-star accommodation with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a luxury en-suite bathroom. Amanda did everything she could to make our stay truly memorable - pointing us in the direction of the Potting Shed pub for an excellent dinner in the evening as well as cooking us one of the best 'full English breakfast' we have had. We hope to return very soon.

What a wonderful place! Ashley Barn is one of the best B & Bs we've ever stayed at. The rooms were lovely - both the bedroom and the en-suite bathroom were very tastefully decorated. The Main Hall, to which guests have full access, is simply stunning. Amanda was delightful and cooked the most delicious breakfast and dinner for us. There were lots of extra little touches, such as the home-made flapjacks, the latest magazines to read and a variety of board games in the sitting room. We look forward very much to our next visit to Ashley Barn.

A perfect base for a trip to the Southern Cotswolds. Amanda and her family were wonderful hosts: great breakfasts, a lovely room with comfortable beds and lots of good advice about the surrounding areas. Amanda is so friendly and accommodating and really welcomed us into her home. We will certainly return to Ashley Barn soon - a very special place!

what a great find, so close to Badminton. A lovely and sympathetic barn conversion (our roon was the old dairy). Our host Amanda and her husband were perfect hosts. We will be back.

Ashley Barn is a beautiful house in a lovely location. Rick and Amanda could not have been more welcoming. We enjoyed a lovely supper in the company and breakfast was equally delicious. Our dog was made as welcome as we were. The main house is a beautiful family home and our room which adjoined it was equally lovely. We would definately return if we were in the area.
