The Experience

Just beyond the main house, with stables on two sides, the honey-stone coach house is bang in the heart of the Cotswolds. A small brook babbles at the bottom of the garden and you’re a five-minute hop from handsome Broadway. Enter the original door to discover a delightful, comfortable, open-plan living space, with a Farrow & Ball’d kitchen to the right and carpeted stairs to the big vaulted bedroom. All is elegant, understated and charming, with a wood-burner in the hearth and beautiful beams above, polo portraits on the walls and a copy of Vogue on the table (a nod to Sue and Andy’s former career). Sue leaves you a generous welcome pack, a basket of logs and fresh flowers, and a folder of leaflets ready to go. And go you must: the area’s sheep-shaped past is seen in every lovely wool church and manor house. Gracious, golden Chipping Campden has some brilliant craft shops; exquisite Stow has its own cricket museum. Winter is for bracing walks, spring is for lambs and wild daffs. Then it’s back for a soak in a luscious deep bath, a good book (there are several), and a game of dominoes before bed.

We stayed at the Coach House over Christmas and New Years 2020 and had the most wonderful stay. Andy and Sue were the most best hosts. The cottage is an ideal base to explore the Cotswolds. We made the most of many idyllic country walks, some of them straight out the door. The cottage is perfect for a winter holiday for two : comfy bedroom, huge bathroom with shower and bathtub, great fully equipped kitchen and a lovely living area with wood burner. The welcome coffee, tea and food pack and complimentary wood are a great touch, so was Sue’s home made Christmas cake. Couldn’t recommend enough

Vincent, London

What a lovely place to stay. We booked for a week in the run up to Christmas and spent our time walking from the cottage to Broadway, Stanton and anywhere else we could find to go. The cottage is well equipped and was always warm. The wood burner adds some extra heat if ever needed. Sue and Andy are next door and always available to help if needed. We stayed on the basis of a family recommendation and were very happy to have done so.

Steve, Cheshire

We stayed at the Coach House to escape from London and “Lockdown Life”. It is a perfectly blissful retreat, beautifully designed, very comfortable and appointed to the highest standard throughout. We wanted for nothing. Gorgeous views of the rolling countryside from every aspect. To cap it all, Sue and Andy are gracious and caring hosts from their home next door, who strike the perfect balance between providing you with help and local advice when needed and leaving you to enjoy your holiday in peace. We loved every minute of our week long stay and would definitely visit again.

Kate and Ramesh, London

A dreamy. cute cottage finished to a luxury standard in a stunning location with generous hosts - what more could you ask! Truly one of the best Sawday's cottages we have stayed in anywhere in Europe.

Simon, Grantham

What more can one say that has not already been said! Wonderful cottage and every comfort you could wish for and more. The icing on the cake was having a fire in the evening with a plentiful supply of logs. Sue and Andy are the perfect hosts and on hand should you need anything.

Hazel, Newmarket

The Coach house is a very special place where you instantly feel the tranquility and stillness amongst the greeness and the babbling brook. The hosts Sue and Andy are very friendly and such lovely welcoming people. The accommodation is first class and as presented in the advertising. The location is perfect to use as a base to fossick in the fascinating little villages in the Cotswolds. A perfect place to stay.

Kerry, Perth WA

Sue and Andy are fabulous hosts in this outstanding accomodation providing every aspect of comfort and taste. An elegant and cosy vacation home with heavenly beds under the historic rooftrees and a well-appointed kitchen for a lovely stay in a beautiful setting of the unspoilt Cotswolds' countryside.

Wolfgang, Dresden, Germany

Beautiful escape to a wonderful coach house, perfect for two, we lit the fire every night. Explored the area every day, buying delicious food and drink to cook and eat. Also had a superb afternoon tea at Buckland Manor, just across the road. We didn't want to leave, this place is so special.

Sarah, Cheam

There are not enough positive superlatives to describe the Coach House. This was our second visit, and it just felt like home. Sue is a delightful hostess, ensuring that guests were warmly welcomed into a spotless, characterful cottage, with all the modern day amenities. The kitchen was fully equipped, including washer & dryer. Two bathrooms, comfy king bed, and of course the ultimate claw foot soaking tub, and a stand alone shower fitted everybody's needs. We have only just left, and yet we can hardly wait to come back. Thank you, Sue, for making us feel so welcome.

This was an absolutely perfect place to say 'goodbye' to 2018 and usher in the New Year. Staying at The Coach House was a real tonic. Stunning property, tastefully decorated and with everything one needed. The 'welcome' hamper was an unexpected treat - loved the home made breakfast granola and jam! Thanks Sue and Andy for being great hosts. The Coach House was in a superb location and we were able to go on walks straight from the front door. We're planning a return trip!

Henrietta, London

We enjoyed a great week here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The cottage is everything one could hope for - beautifully decorated and very well equipped. A lovely hamper of goodies was a much appreciated surprise. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the area, with lots of well marked walks and interesting places to visit. Sue & Andy made us very welcome with lots of helpful advice & tips, without being intrusive.

Michele, Hertford

I've just returned from a wonderful stay at the Coach House. The cottage has been very thoughtfully set up to make guests comfortable and cosy. It's really well-equipped, beautifully designed (with an outstanding bathroom, complete with monsoon shower!). Sue is a superb host - friendly and welcoming, but not intrusive - and left a generous basket of welcome goodies including her home-made jam. Would gladly return, and can highly recommend.

Valerie, London

A perfect little cottage where we spent a fabulous weekend. The cottage is so cosy with its wood-burning stove, perfect for watching a DVD with a glass of wine gazing at the fire. We could not recommend the cottage and Sue and Andy as hosts enough and we are already looking forward to planning our next stay. Make sure you visit Broadway - Sue's walking instructions were fab and it was a perfect country walk!

Dean & Katrina, London

An exceptional cottage in the perfect location, spotlessly clean, decorated to a very high standard and a real home away from home. Sue & Andy were absolutely lovely, and on hand if we needed them, but were completely unobtrusive, allowing us to have the perfect weekend escape.

Caroline, London

The warmest of welcomes; the most perfect and beautifully appointed cottage; such a pretty location in an area packed full of interest. Can't wait to do it all again.

Denise, Sleaford

An absolutely beautiful, peaceful, romantic house. We have stayed at the Coach House on two occasions and already planning a 3rd. Sue and Andy are the perfect hosts. The house is beautiful with a wonderful wood burning stove for chilly nights, and high end appliances in a beautiful kitchen, a pleasure to cook in. The bedroom is beautiful, a great size with a fantastic bathroom leading off including roll top bath. I cannot praise the Coach House enough and the setting is beautiful with Broadway on your doorstep. Broadway has great cafes, restaurants a great deli for foodies. A perfect break!

Rebecca, Berkshire

Buckland is a wonderful, quiet village and Coach House is the perfect place to stay. You receive a lovely welcome basket and every need has been provided for. We were made to feel welcome and yet had plenty of privacy. Coach House is in a great location with lovely walks all around. We highly recommend a stay.

Danella, Boyne Falls, Michigan

This was the second time we stayed at the Coach House and we loved it just as much as the first time. Sue and Andy go our their way to make guests feel welcome on arrival and provide a basket containing some essentials such as milk and fresh bread and also some delicious home-made granola. The cottage is well equiped and very comfortable, with a private terrace if the sun shines and a wood-burning stove if it doesn't. There are so many things to do and places to visit in the area that we are intending to go back at some stage.

beatrice, London

A great deal of thought and effort has obviously gone into this delightfully presented cottage situated in a pretty and quiet hamlet near Broadway. A nice open plan living room and kitchen and a bathroom that is pure luxury. The cottage has all that you could wish for and more; information, maps, books, magazines and a lovely welcome basket containing superb granola and bread amongst other treats. Absolutely lovely cottage. Thank you. We hope to return soon

We had a fabulous and very relaxing time at the cottage and thanks so much for all the nice goodies that awaited us. It's a fabulous bolthole and we will definitely be returning soon.
