The Experience

Absolute privacy, your own courtyard garden and an owner at the end of the drive for tips on the Cotswolds – perfect. Kiloran has restored the late 18th-century granary and introduced everything to make you feel cosseted: an elegant wood-burner and a drenching shower, heated bathroom floor, super crockery and glasses and a hugely comfortable kingsize bed.

Downstairs is a small well-equipped kitchen and a pretty sitting room with a Yorkstone hearth and an oak mantel, comfy armchairs and a sofa, on one side a sunny window seat with views up over the fields to the tree-lined hill and French windows to the garden on the other. The builder called it a ‘tardis’ and so it is: spacious for two and more than adequate for a couple with a baby.

The steep pitch roof creates a lofty feel and there are views from the bed towards classic Cotswold village houses. Six hundred feet above sea level and with no light pollution whatsoever, the stars shine brightly here, walking is sublime and you’re only a mile away from a pub.

Reviews

The Granary is a spacious and immaculate bolthole for two. Its peaceful rural setting make it ideal for relaxing and walking, yet it's within easy reach of Stow for restaurants and shops and is in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds.

Florence, Sawday's Inspector

We have just returned from a delightful week at the Granary. The cottage is well designed and equipped and spacious for a couple with a real warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is full of light and very comfortable and being just outside Stow is in a super location for visiting the Cotswolds. Kiloran provided a warm welcome and was very quick to respond to my pre arrival questions. The Granary is spotless and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Jill, Congleton

The Granary is lovely- very well designed, maintained and equipped. It has a welcoming atmosphere and is a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Definitely recommend it.

Tamsin, Bristol

This is the most delightful place to stay. We have just returned from a three night visit and highly recommend this lovely destination. The Granary is immaculate, and tastefully decorated. Kiloran has gone to a great deal of trouble to make sure that everything is in apple pie order and we cannot fault it. During these unusual times, with hygiene safety uppermost in our thinking when out and about, staying here felt perfectly safe - gloves, and anti-bacterial spray were supplied, and there was a tick-list to fill in on leaving as to what you have/have not touched etc. Just lovely!

Jane, Lymington

We stayed at the Granary for a week in late May; Sawdays tree planting scheme spurred me to write an overdue review. The Granary was lovely - absolutely immaculate with so many touches of luxury (heated bathroom floor, electric blanket, best equipped kitchen we have had the pleasure to use). Wonderful location for exploring the Cotswolds, yet in quiet village with picturesque views. Just want to get back to enjoy the garden more in better weather.
