English to the core – and to the bottom of its lovely garden, with a woodland walk and plenty of quiet places to sit. Sweep into the circular driveway to this beautiful, 17th-century high gabled house. Inside, all is comfortably lived-in with an understated décor, antiques, creaky floorboards and a real sense of atmosphere and history. The bedrooms, one with a garden view, have good beds, TVs and a chaise longue or easy chair; bathrooms are vintage and functional but large. Caroline is charming and serves breakfasts with eggs from friends’ hens and local bacon at the long table in the rich red dining room. A welcoming place.

A wonderful find. We were warmly welcomed into this beautiful old house by Caroline who was a mine of interesting information about the surrounding area. Our lovely spacious bedroom overlooked the garden and surrounding fields and we slept soundly in an enormous and very comfortable bed. Breakfast in the elegant dining room was delicious. This is a super area packed with interesting places to visit: Kelmscott Manor, Buscot Park, Bibury, Cirencester and Fairford to mention a few. Would definitely return and have recommended it to all our friends.
