The Experience

Gather together a group of friends or family for a special retreat from the everyday. Your light and airy open space has much style and comfort, a practical and beautiful kitchen, plenty of squashy seating, books and board games, a flat screen for DVDs and a massive log-burner to keep things extra cosy. Bigger parties can inter-connect with The Egg Store next door.

Sit out in the communal courtyard garden with a chilled glass of rosé from the unstinting welcome pack – amongst much else you’ll discover gin, tasty nibbles and freshly-baked bread from the artisan bakery. There are bikes to borrow for rides through acres of farmland and to Daylesford’s sister pub The Wild Rabbit in Kingham and the walking is also superb – you’re left good maps.

Nip to the restaurant for fabulous organic food (mostly home grown or reared on the farm) or a browse around the shop for something beautiful to take home – cottage guests get a discount. This is a bustling place to stay with cookery and floristry courses as well as events. Wind down in the Bamford Haybarn Spa with a free yoga, pilates, sound healing or meditation class.

Gather up family or friends and come down to Daylesford. There's much to see and do - laze in the spa, book on a cookery or floristry class, borrow the bikes and head off into gorgeous countryside. If you're tired when you get back just slope up to the restaurant and be fed beautifully without lifting a finger.

The neighbourhood

Once you're here you probably won't want to budge - it's that sort of place. You're surrounded by over two thousand acres of organic farm and much of what is reared or grown here you can buy or eat. There are cookery courses running all year such as artisan breadmaking, nose to tail butchery, ferments to eat and drink or how to make quick and simple suppers. Floristry courses and workshops use flowers from the Cutting Garden. You can practise yoga, pilates and meditation or book a massage at the Bamford Haybarn Spa. Pedal off on free bikes down plenty of footpaths, walk for miles, visit lovely Cotswold villages. For a change of scene The Feathered Nest at Nether Westcote is a good pub.

Local points of interest from Daylesford

  • Holidays are a time to indulge, so each Daylesford cottage includes a relaxing class in our Bamford Haybarn Spa for every adult guest. You can enhance your stay with further holistic treatments, a course at our Cookery School, floristry or craft workshop.
  • Daylesford cottage guests are able to discover all we have to offer in our farmshop, at our Cookery School, Floristry Workshop, the Bamford Barn and Haybarn Spa and enjoy a 10% discount during their stay.
  • Our cottages have been carefully restored to retain their original farmhouse features, using natural, locally sourced and recycled materials employing age-old techniques by skilled craftsmen.
  • During the growing season, the flowers in our cottages are picked from the organic Cutting Garden next to our Market Garden. For the colder months, enjoy the warmth of our open fires, with logs from the farm where more trees are planted than harvested.
  • We are spoilt for choice with antiques and farmers markets in the neighbouring towns. Not to mention the Moreton-in-Marsh market, the largest street market in the Cotswolds where you will find everything from fresh produce to homeware and books.
  • In our bathrooms you will find the Bamford Bath & Body collection, made with naturally sourced and, wherever possible, certified organic ingredients.
