The
Experience

A smartly-renovated 19th-century pub with seven en suites; white linen and Watership Down lotions and potions. Breakfast is served in the conservatory or main bar: locally-sourced eggs and bacon, Stornaway award-winning black pudding, Hobbs House bakery bloomer bread.

There is an abundance of things to do and see, walk through the water meadows, take a short stroll to the iconic Bombay Sapphire Distillery, or the multi-award winning Hardys Cottage Garden Plants. Head to Vale Farm Fishery for fishing in the pretty river Test, stop off at Test Valley or Drummer Golf Club for a round or head to Highclere Castle – Downton Abbey fans will like this one.

Meals cooked by the in-house chefs are delicious and seasonal; try the braised ox cheek and celeriac mash paired with a great selection of wine.

Introducing

Watership Down Inn

Philip and Jules bought the place when it was very run-down in about 2014 and utterly transformed it, adding in the new annexe, and landscaping the garden. They're off-site but check in every day - and the friendly front of house team will be there to welcome you.
