Monnow River Cottage

After our 6th visit we were as charmed as ever by the welcome and care from Tivy and Steve in what must be one of the most pleasing locations by the Welsh/English borders. The cottage amenities are as convenient and comfortable as ever but the wonderful setting by the river Monnow with beautiful skyscapes over the Black Mountains and the magnificent trees and wildflowers make this place a gem of peace and tranquility.whatever the weather does. Nature beckons every morning on rising summer or winter

We stayed at this Fabulous cottage for a week, it is set in beautiful grounds which the owners take great care of & they are friendly & helpful. The cottage is very well maintained, spotless & we felt at home straight away. The local Post Office/Shop is only a short walk away & is well stocked with friendly staff. There are many lovely places to visit in the area & plenty of local places to eat. We would highly recommend staying at this cottage.

We had a delightful fortnight at Monnow River Cottage, enjoying the peace, seclusion and beautiful surrounding countryside. Tivy and Steve made us very welcome and it was lovely to be able to wander by the river and through the flower meadows

This is a delightful cottage - very well equipped and in a beautiful setting. The river Monnow is a stone's throw away and the wildlife is stunning. We saw dippers, kingfishers, grey wagtails and even an otter. The wildflower meadows are wonderful to0. Tivy and Steve are very friendly and welcoming and generous in sharing this delightful spot with their guests. We will definitely be going back and cannot recommend this cottage highly enough.

Another great break at this wonderful cottage. As usual perfect peace on the estate, where this is the only holiday let, and you have the freedom to roam the gardens, riverside and fields. Tranquility can be surprisingly hard to find even in remote areas, but is guaranteed here. The weather is not, but we were lucky so were able to explore the surrounding hills, mountains and valleys in benign conditions with scenic and varied terrain and views.
