The Experience

A family home and Julie truly enjoys having guests. Aga breakfasts are full of delicious homemade, home-grown things and taken in the dining room along with other guests. Always homemade granola, fresh fruit from the garden, organic yogurt and local honey with home baked bread, fresh cheeses, sausages and bacon from the local butcher – it’s a relaxed, sociable affair.

Stay in for delicious suppers too, always with local produce such as asparagus and fresh vegetables, great fish pie, sea bass from Hastings delivered to the door. Bedrooms have fresh flowers, fat pillows and sweet views.

Explore seven acres of paddocks, outdoor heated pool, cutting garden and mature elevated terraces, with gorgeous views across rolling Kent and Sussex. Sissinghurst and Great Dixter, castles and pretty villages are close. Return to a sitting room with huge relaxing sofas and plump cushions; Buster and Hetty the spaniels are an added boon.

Reviews

We enjoyed one of the best short breaks we've had. Julie couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We came home feeling relaxed. It's a lovely house with its own grounds. Our food was beautifully presented and used local ingredients. Our bedroom was a good size, very comfortable and had splendid country views. Benenden village a mile or so away has a range of local shops and two pubs serving good food.

Just back from second visit to Julie and Jonathan’s perfect place - and am already dreaming of the next. Need I say more?

It hard to know what to add to all the existing excellent reviews here about Beacon Hall House. It certainly is one of the best, if not the best, B&B we have ever had the pleasure to visit. The house and garden are lovely and set in a delightful area. The rooms are very comfortable, warm and clean. However, what makes it so special is the very kind and attentive hosting one receives from Julie and Jonathan, the owners. Julie is also a superb cook, so breakfasts and her evening meals are marvellous. She also pays a lot of attention to detail which makes a lot of difference.

In the heart of Kent overlooking the Weald set along a rural lane. Julie runs a friendly large home providing delicious breakfasts of home made goodies and local produce. The rooms are immaculate, large, bright and with great attention to detail. Relax in the guest sitting room or take yourself out to play tennis or swim in the heated outdoor pool. Close by is Sissinghurst and numerous vineyards.

A wonderful family home, and beautiful garden, lovely bedroom with a very comfortable bed and feather pillows. All essentials in the bathroom. Julie Jex is a very special person , so kind and helpful. Super breakfasts and dinners .

We had a wonderful 4 nights stay at this beautiful b & b and were made to feel at home instantly. We used the pool whilst there and enjoyed Julie’s lovely cooking when we stayed one night for supper. The breakfast is lovely and everything you could want is catered for. Delicious. The one thing I would say is it’s all about the small touches that you remember and there were many. Fresh flowers from the garden in your room. Hand made nibbles to come home to. Freshly baked goodies every morning. Vintage china and linen. White company bath robes and linen to sink in to..I could go on..lovely.

We loved our stay at Beacon Hall House! The place was so relaxing and we loved using the heated outdoor pool and tennis court. Our room was lovely and serene and Julie was such a lovely host and cooked an amazing breakfast!

My family and I spent a wonderful couple of days at Beacon Hall House Benenden. Our stay was a delight. The house was just superb, the rooms were sumptuous, and everything in the house was first class and of a high quality. The grounds were delightful. We made good use of the pool and a tennis court which were very well maintained. Our hostess Julie could not do enough for us. She went over and above for us all. Nothing was too much trouble. Julie made us a delicious dinner and we had a tasty breakfast every morning. I would highly recommend Beacon Hall House, it was fabulous. 10/10

What a delightful stay! Julie and Jonathan are perfect hosts: welcoming, genuine & warm. We were a family of 4 and Julie was so kind to our two young children. (Both of whom incidentally insisted I leave her a 5 star review). Breakfasts were delicious, full of local and home baked produce. Dinner was perfect and very reasonably priced. We were very happy to see both budget and fine wines (including local wines) on their wine list. Our room was very comfortable, with lovely Ren products in the bathroom. We made full use of the tennis court and tried a quick dip in the pool despite the weather!

Beacon Hall House is without doubt a special place to stay . A beautiful country house, stunning grounds, spacious, stylish and very comfortable rooms. What sets it apart is the warmth of the welcome from Julie who is a super host and just can’t do enough for you, and the little extras such as the heated swimming pool and even a tennis court . Breakfast was delicious with great touches such as homemade granola and banana bread and a very tasty bespoke cooked offering. Both ourselves and our friends who also stayed loved our stay . The location is also truly fantastic for so many attractions.

Carol, Brentwood

Flawless is too passive and inadequate description as it fails to communicate so many outstanding features: extremely charming and helpful host; spacious bedrooms and bathrooms; beautiful decor; fabulous breakfasts including Aga home baked granola - the poached eggs even had little sweet basil flowers on them, etc., etc. Great location for visiting multiple fine gardens. The description modestly refers to "good dinners". We dined the first evening at the award-winning, Michelin starred Three Chimneys and the second evening at Beacon Hall House where the food and the ambience was vastly better.

brendan, Whitstable

A warm welcome. Extremely comfortable accommodation. Hotel standard and more. If 6 stars could be awarded, then Julie and Jonathan would qualify! A 6 star breakfast and the outdoor pool as a bonus. Delightful!

Barbara, Doset

Warm welcome, beautiful house, lovely owner, marvelous breakfast. You really feel welcome. Everything is very good!

Anna, Bussum

Beacon Hall is a beautiful place to say. The attention to detail is second to none - beautiful furnishings, the most comfortable pillows ever, quality toiletries and a fabulous breakfast. Julie is a really lovely host and nothing is too much trouble. Beacon Hall is set in lovely grounds with no shortage of walks in the surrounding area and interesting places to visit. I thoroughly recommend staying here!
