The Experience
Brian and Antonia’s 200-acre fruit farm is perched on the edge of the Weald of Kent, with stunning views over orchards and oast houses. The farmhouse has 17th-century origins (low ceilings, wonky floors, stone flags) and a conservatory for sunny breakfasts; colours are soft, antiques gleam, the mood is relaxed. Pretty bedrooms have garden views, TVs and magazines; there’s a comfy sitting room too. Come in spring for the blossom, in summer for the fruit and veg from the garden; chickens roam free. The Greensand Way runs along the bottom of the farm, you’re close to Sissinghurst Castle and 45 minutes from the Channel Tunnel.

We stayed at Reason Hill near Maidstone for a family wedding and it was simply fabulous. Antonia and Brian were lovely hosts, our rooms were extremely comfortable and we had wonderful breakfasts complete with fresh strawberries from their garden - couldn't fault it at all. I hope we'll find an excuse to go back there in the future.
