The Gatehouse Lodge

We have been to The Gatehouse Lodge for the past three Christmases now and always receive a warm welcome, a generous welcome pack, and a cosy stay. It is the perfect secluded bolthole for two and we will be back!

This was our third stay in The Gatehouse Lodge. Easton Walled Garden is a very special place. We come here to be tranquil and relax. The Gatehouse is furnished and equipped to an excellent standard. We would recommend it to one and all !

Excellent accommodation. Stayed for 8 days and cannot wait to get back. Clean, staff is tremendous, and location could not be better.

Lovely cottage. Very comfortable and perfect for two. Being able to charge the hybrid was a bonus. Will stay agay.

We had the most wonderful time. Our accommodation was absolutely lovely from the beautiful patio garden that led through a gate into the most wonderful country estate garden with it’s beautiful trees and amazing flowers.. we had this all to ourselves with a beautiful bottle of red wine and a picnic at dusk. I found the staff to be totally lovely very friendly and everyone seemed to be extremely happy which was infectious they were all smiley and helpful… I would definitely go again. When we arrived we had so many lovely things in our Cottage to try including Easton Sloe Gin ….A Fabulous Stay

A very lovely one bedroom gatehouse, located in the most beautiful grounds - Easton Walled Gardens, with “out of hours” access exclusively for the delightful owners, Sir Fred Cholmeley and Lady Ursula and those staying at one of the lodges. True tranquility on your doorstep, with plenty of local attractions a short distance away.

Such a lovely stay, enjoyed the Gatehouse Lodge very much. Cosy, lovely cottage with direct access to the gardens at all time. Evening walks with our dog through these beautiful gardens….what’s not to love.

We had a wonderful three night stay at gatehouse lodge. It was a perfect little bolt hole for two, beautifully renovated and equipped. It was so comfortable. It was a bonus to have the gardens to ourselves once the visitors went. The surrounding countryside is lovely with many quintessentiall English villages which we explored on our bikes. A lovely stay and would love to return.

Fabulously comfortable stay. Very clean accommodation. Loved the library!! The gifts were appreciated too. Direct access to the gardens was a real treat. Would unequivocally recommend a stay.

I loved my few days at the Gatehouse Lodge and plan to return. Being able to go into the gardens at any time is a real pleasure and the property is most welcoming, in itself, and because of the "starter" items left for the visitor.

We have stayed at Easton on a number of occasions and every time the stay is 5 star. The accommodation is beautiful with everything you need. The gardens are stunning and a delight to stroll in when visitors go home. The garden shop and cafe's are an extra bonus. You are welcomed with a selection of local produce. The host is superb, quick to help. The estate staff are all very welcoming and professional. We will be booking our return visit for 2024. I would recommend the estate cottages 100%.

A beautifully equipped cottage. Cosy, clean and perfect for two. Well located, having out of hours access to the walled garden. The welcome pack included treats as well as essentials. We had two very good suppers in the pub on the estate which is a 10 minute drive away along a quiet single track road. The portions were huge. A delightful, restful break

What a delightful place to stay. The accommodation was very comfortable, well appointed, cosy and private. Some fabulous welcome provisions were provided, all locally sourced. Really enjoyed walking around the gardens when they were closed to the public, so beautiful and peaceful. Estate staff are extremely helpful with a wealth of local knowledge to help plan where to eat, visit etc. we also ate in utilising the excellent kitchen facilities. We are definitely returning.

My wife and I enjoyed a three night stay. The Gatehouse Lodge has to be one of the best properties we've ever stayed in (we were planning our return visit before the end of our stay). It was an amazing bonus to have the gardens to ourselves when not open to the general public. Also, Sir Fred's welcome pack was fabulous and very well appreciated.

Feb this was our first stay in the Gatehouse Lodge but our 4th visit to Easton. We always love visiting the gardens and on this occasion we were very fortunate to be able to enjoy snowdrop season in very mild weather. As is the case for the other properties, the Gatehouse is very well equipped and comfortably furnished. We absolutely loved our stay and have re-booked!

Our second stay at The Gatehouse Lodge was just as magical as the first. A cosy, quiet and comfortable bolt hole for Christmas and New Year-we’ll be back!
