Shoreditch, one of the hippest, most alternative parts of London, has a thriving creative scene. Head out to cool clubs, bars, galleries and restaurants or stay put; hang out with the locals in the bar for drinks, brunch, lunch. Maybe a boogie on the dance floor (it’s open to 2am at the weekends).
There’s a restaurant with a more refined feel on the first floor. Eat here if you fancy proper napkins, table service or a Sunday roast. The food is a real focus with weekly changing menus, local suppliers and seasonal produce. You’ll even find ingredients grown on the roof terrace making their way to your plate. Sit round the fire pit on the terrace before slipping into bed. Each of the five rooms is gorgeous with rainfall showers in tiled bathrooms.
Breakfast is a feast: they make their own sausages and cure their own salmon. Wander out to Spitalfields market, Columbia Road flower market or Brick Lane for a dose of London life.
