Stables & Coach House

Foulsham, Norfolk
Bed & Breakfast

Two beautifully decorated cottages in north Norfolk village. Sunny bedroom upstairs, cosy living room below and large garden

2 rooms

Rooms sleep 2

You stay in converted outbuildings in the back garden of this Georgian house in the centre of the village. Both have a separate entrance and look out on to the vegetable patch and gardens.

Karena has thought of everything. You have your own kitchenette and dining/sitting area, a large comfortable bedroom and drench shower above and use of the garden. A continental breakfast is left for you: homemade bread, fruit, yogurt and muesli. Take your morning coffee outside to a suntrap bench and plan your days – Karena has heaps of information about the area.

Join the Marriott’s Way, take a trip to the coast, hunt for antiques in Holt. Return to your cosy bolthole for tea and biscuits and walk to The Queen’s Head for supper.

After our long journey we was welcomed by the friendly Karena who kindly offered us a glass of wine. Our stable was beautiful, clean, spacious and had everything we wanted. Our dogs loved running around and walking into the lovely village. Breakfast was great, fresh baked bread and fruit. Yoghurt which we ate outside in the garden. The village pub is great and good food. Coast is a thirty minute drive. Loved our three nights stay and super hosts.

Mark, Braunschweig

You and your pooch will be warmly welcomed here in these beautifully converted cottages. Plenty of space both inside and out for you all to enjoy Norfolk village life. The cottages have a small kitchen and sitting room as well as extremely comfortable beds and a gorgeous shower room each. There are walks from the door or join the nearby Peddars Way to the coast. The pub is dog-friendly too.

The neighbourhood

Foulsham is a small yet vibrant village with a school, store, beautiful church and The Queen's Head pub. Many of the buildings are Georgian so it's a pretty place to wander around. There are walks from the B&B doors and two miles away is the Marriott's Way (26-mile cycle trail along a disused railway track) - stop at Kerri's Farmhouse cafe for tea. Foxley Wood nature reserve (three miles) has a spectacular bluebell wood. Reepham (five miles) has a deli and restaurant; Algy's Farm Shop is a 15-minute cycle ride. Fakenham is seven miles, Holt 10. Nearby National Trust houses are Blickling Estate (10 miles) and Felbrigg Hall (14 miles). It's 16 miles to the coast and 18 to Norwich.

Karena Taylor

Karena and her husband moved from South Norfolk as they wanted to live nearer the coast. They bought Virginia House in 2016 and set about converting the Stables and Coach House into cottage escapes. Karena works as a Hall Steward at Holkham Hall and has very good knowledge of the local history. She's friendly and outgoing and enjoys meeting people. She loves dogs and has a friendly young Cockapoo.
