Seeking seclusion – near civilization? You’ll find it here, in this octagonal hideaway for two, with meadows and woods all around and a pub the other side of the fields. Debby lives in the manor house, cares deeply about your comfort and privacy, and warmly settles you in. She and Ant have done an immaculate job on this brick-and-flint former dairy (ask to see the before and after photos!), creating a mini home of warmth and delight. Through the front door you enter the kitchen; despite its size, it has all you need, from dishwasher to butler’s sink to coat hooks on the door. To one side is the spacious living room, to the other, the pampering bathroom (jacuzzi bath, hand-held shower, pretty toiletries). Original pamment tiles are topped with a large rug, there’s good comfy seating and a faux wood-burner for cosy nights in – and TV, board games and music. We fell in love with the mezzanine bedroom, but if you’d rather avoid the steep stair to bed, you can go for the sofabed instead. Spend the day in Norwich, spin off on the bikes, return to a sundowner on the patio.
