A long drive leads down to this 1770s house and racing stables – it’s all been in Paul’s family since 1956. Ku welcomes you with tea and cake and you can book a fascinating morning on the gallops with Paul so you’ll feel very much at home staying here.
Bedrooms are generous and inviting with garden views. The first floor double has a sweet child’s room adjoining; hop up more stairs to the atmospheric room in the eaves. Wake for a full English with farm shop sausages and bacon, colourful eggs from the free-range chickens, fruit, yogurt and cereals.
Read by the fire in the drawing room, walk on the grass tracks over 200 acres of farmland, sit in the pretty garden. Ku has plenty of pub recommendations – try The Kitchen at Farnborough, just three miles away, or The Red Lion in Culworth, seven miles.
