Surrounded by 80 acres dotted with munching sheep and horses... you've landed in a peaceful spot. All is polished and immaculate inside. Bedrooms are inviting: some have vaulted elm beams, all have deep beds, fat feather pillows, pretty lamps, vases of flowers. Elegant sitting and dining rooms look uphill to the woods; find silver pheasants atop a gleaming table, a trio of colourful sofas. Expect a hearty breakfast with compotes and a myriad of teas. The area teems with places to visit: Stratford, Warwick Castle, National Trust gems, Compton Verney art. John is warm and engaging – Trouble the terrier will help you feel at home too.

Local points of interest from
John Jeffries:

  • Make your way across the farm to join one of the many footpaths that lead through the woods and over the fields. From the tranquility and dappled shade of the bluebell woods that cover the slopes of the Knowle, catch the amazing views across the vale.
  • Head out for a relaxed pint of local beer in the seclusion of the Rose & Crown, nestled in the village of Ratley. Or delight the taste buds with a seriously good lunch at The Kitchen, Farnborough followed by a walk in the stately park of Farnborough Hall.
  • From the high fields on the farm, take a moment to sit and contemplate the endless patchwork of fields that lay below you, as the sun sets behind the distant Malvern Hills.
  • Feel the touch of history as you survey the Civil War battle field of Edgehill from the towering battlements of the Castle Inn, the spot where Charles I raised his standard. It's also a great pub too!
