Sarah has a peaceful 17th-century stone house, with a pretty walled cottage garden and views to Alfred’s Tower and Longleat. Beams, flagstones and inglenook fireplaces have been sensitively restored; there’s a double in the eaves and a twin with its own sitting room where you can read and relax.
Breakfast on homemade and farmers’ market produce before exploring Stourhead’s landscaped gardens, Wells’ twice-weekly markets, Glastonbury’s eclectic shops. Sarah, engaging, well-travelled and a great cook, looks after you warmly.
Bring horses and dogs to explore the limestone hills and lakes of the Mendips, piles of books or paints to capture the serene light and delicate blooms of the gardens with a pot of tea and a plate of biscuits.
