The
Experience

Head down the long, private lane and arrive at Sarah’s peaceful 17th-century stone house with its pretty walled cottage garden and views to Alfred’s Tower and Longleat. Inside is just as special. Beams, flagstones and inglenook fireplaces have been sensitively restored; rugs, pictures, comfy sofas and polished antiques add warmth and serenity. The twin, at the end of the house, has a little shower room and its own sitting room. Breakfast on homemade and farmers’ market produce before exploring Stourhead, Wells, Glastonbury. Sarah, engaging, well-travelled and a great cook, looks after you warmly.

Reviews

A very enjoyable few days in a lovely, tranquil house. Sarah is a welcoming hostess and went out of her way to make sure we were well looked after, including making reservations and, after we were snowed in, cooking an excellent dinner. Breakfasts were very good too. The sitting room and dining rooms are both full of character and the open fire added to the cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Martin, Cranbrook

Lovely twin bed and sitting room annex, delicious locally sourced breakfast, care and attention to detail and a lovely hostess. A lovely delightful stay.

Visited Broadgrove House for a two-night stay. Sarah Voller gave us a very warm welcome and served us tea and biscuits. The bedroom was comfortable and we had the extra pleasure of a private sitting-room warmed by an efficient wood burning stove. She was able to offer advice on places to eat and her suggestions proved most successful. Her breakfasts were delicious and special mentioned should be made off the lovely ham served with excellent scrambled eggs. Sarah is a very natural and down to earth hostess which was much appreciated. Our stay proved most relaxing and extremely enjoyable.

What an idyllic place. We'd just spent the weekend on the Gower in very poor weather, so arriving at Broadgrove House was wonderful. This beautiful stone house is half a mile down a track in the middle of farm land. We had a cosy bedroom and a sitting room at one end of the house. As we had our two dogs with us, it was heaven. We could walk straight out of the door and the dogs were in a lovely environment. Sarah Voller's dog Nilla showed them the land. We had a delicious cooked breakfast in the house's dining room. Fresh fruit from her garden and home made jams made it extra special.

Lyn, Guildford

Absolute tranquility in this comfortable idyllic home. Ease and peace provided by charming hostess, Sarah. Delicious breakfast too. Many thanks Sarah

Beautiful remote location yet actually not far from pretty Somerset villages and towns, with good eating pubs. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, with large area of accommodation to yourselves.

Caroline, Petworth

We used Broadgrove House as a base for our daughter’s wedding, staying there two nights. Sarah was a perfect hostess providing wonderful breakfasts. Broadgrove House was a perfect setting for our daughter and bridesmaids to get ready and there was even the offer of a glass of champagne from Sarah! Sarah’s hospitality was perfect, and Broadgrove House will have many happy memories for all of us. Thank you Sarah for a wonderful time.

Sarah Voller is an exceptional & very charming hostess with a beautiful period home. We loved our two day visit and will definitely visit again, Very highly recommended!

Patrick

We stayed in the large room under the roof beams, with private bathroom and romantic rural view, a calling owl and Sarah’s elegant horse grazing below. The track to the house (with a bevy of quail running ahead) is itself an adventure, through trees, beside an old quarry. With no lights, you see the whole night sky, and the stars beyond the stars. It’s two miles to The George (beside 14th century Nunney Castle) for supper. Broadgrove is a historic listed house and Sarah is a knowledgeable and charming hostess. Her delicious breakfast is proper, traditional British luxury without fussiness.
