The
Experience

A relaxed home with no rules; arrive to tasty cake and tea or a tipple, settle in the sitting room by one of the wood-burners, chat in the kitchen, wander mown paths in the garden. The sunny open-plan kitchen/living room is the heart of the house; Becky is a keen cook so food is good, local, homemade; Crumpet, one of the terriers, snoozes by the Aga. Quiet, comfy bedrooms have tip-top linen, painted furniture, pots of flowers, garden views; the larger twin has a sofa by tall windows. Next door Cider Mill has a farm shop, museum and tea rooms, the walks are great, the Jurassic coast is a short drive. A friendly place, a treat to stay.

Reviews

We had the most lovely stay with Becky. She was a kind and generous host allowing us to come and go as we needed on our first babysitting experience with our baby grand daughter! We had a delicious breakfast served to us with a lovely view of the garden. We would highly recommend it.... visit immediately!

Every now and then you come across somewhere to stay that is quite exceptional. Brook House is one such place. Becky is welcoming, charming, fun and goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is memorable. The house is modern, beautiful, cosy and situated in a very pretty and quiet village; the food is wonderful too. For us it was an ideal stopping point just off the A303. Highly recommended to all!

Becky is a very welcoming and friendly host. On arrival we had lovely homemade biscuits and tea. The house is beautifully styled and furnished. Sleep quality excellent followed by a freshly cooked breakfast - homemade bread and granola were particularly good. Highly recommend.

Brook House has such a chilled atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to relax. Becky is a calm, friendly host. Delicious food and a gorgeous setting. The cider mills are an interesting typical Somerset attraction with a nice cafe. Thoroughly recommended. I felt my batteries were fully recharged after my stay.

Local points of interest from Becky Jam

  • Lovely walks from the back door with views of the Windwhistle Ridge and you might be lucky enough to spot a Kingfisher along the Brook.
  • Perry's Cider Mill is a real treat and only a few steps from Brook House.
  • After a long walk or a day on the Jurassic coast come back to Brook House's cosy sitting room and the warmth of the woodburner. Perfect for enjoying scrumptious homemade cake or a complimentary drink before dinner.
  • Enjoy dinner at the award winning Lord Poulett Arms in nearby Hinton St George and Becky will drive you there and collect you at the end of your evening.
  • If you're staying for more than one night you can relax at Brook House for the whole day. Becky can prepare a delicious home made lunch or you could stroll a matter of yards and enjoy Perrys Cider and a ploughmans in the Cider Mill tearooms.
  • Wander through the mown paths in the garden and admire the spring blossom in the new Brook House orchard. Take a cup of coffee to the top of the garden to enjoy the spring morning sunshine.
