The Experience

Charming Jenny and her energetic Jack Russell Titch welcome you to their comfortable home with tea and homemade cake. You’ll be looked after well in this big Victorian house with its huge open fire, antiques in every room, ancestral oil paintings and contemporary art.Inviting bedrooms overlook the gardens; breakfast is at one convivial table and the food is locally sourced and organic as much as possible. If it’s sunny you can find your own spot to sit among mature trees, plants and shrubs with views to Blagdon Lake – tawny owls, woodpeckers and birds of prey can often be seen.Bristol and Bath are close, you can walk from the house into the hills or down to the lake. Foodies will love having Michelin-listed restaurants so close. Treat yourself at The Ethicurean in Wrington or The Seymour Arms in Blagdon or the Pony & Trap near Chew Magna.

Reviews

We had a lovely stay at Coombe Lodge Farmhouse bed and breakfast. Jennifer was the perfect host, very friendly and welcoming. She kindly offered us an early check in to accommodate our day’s plans. The room was extremely clean with comfortable beds and luxurious bedding, beautifully decorated and furnished in a traditional style. Our bathroom was vast and had everything we needed and more. Breakfast was a full english with perfectly poached eggs, accompanied by homemade spelt bread and jam, delicious! Highly recommended.

We had such a lovely stay - the welcome was warm, the house and settings are beautiful, the room was everything we wanted and more. The breakfast was absolute perfection. If you are attending a wedding at Coombe Lodge this B and B is less than a five minute stroll across the beautiful gardens. We could not have been looked after better - thank you 😊

Julie, Wellington

We stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful little gem, such a lovely house with a very tranquil garden and really comfortable room, breakfast was excellent but the warmth of our welcome from Jenny was amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Can't wait to return !

Anthony, Worthing Sussex

I stayed in this wonderful B&B for 2 nights with 4 other friends. We had a wedding in the venue next door which made it ideal for us. We fell in love with this B &B because of the beautiful surroundings and views but also because of the warmth we received from Jenny.....none of us wanted to leave, it was so amazing. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and Jenny could not do enough for us during our stay....I would highly recommend this wonderful place.

We had a fabulous two night stay at Coombe Lodge and was more than looked after by Jenny and her three furry helpers. The room was lovely and the breakfast was superb. The views from her house are stunning and so is the surrounding area. The perfect place for peace and tranquillity with the perfect host.

Introducing

Jenny Marks

Jenny was brought up in Pembrokeshire but left for the bright lights of Bristol and then a corporate career in London where she travelled widely. She competed at a professional level with horses and the house has many pictures and prints featuring equine pursuits, hunting and racing. A love of art was engendered by her mother, who also ran a B&B in the past. Jenny is now studying soft furnishings in Bristol, provides support and advice for elderly care in rural areas and mentors young people to broaden their horizons. Jenny loves meeting people and welcoming them to her home.
