"Richard and Liz were incredibly attentive and charming hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble . The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms luxurious and spotless . Most delicious tea and a lit Woodburning stove in our own cosy sitting room welcomed us on our arrival despite our lateness . Breakfast was first class and we much appreciated helpful suggestions about day’s activities including a lovely headland walk on sand bay / point . "

"Yet again a wonderful two day break. Nothing was too much trouble for our charming hosts. Comfortable rooms including our own sitting room and woodburning stove. Food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend for a short break or even a departure point for Bristol airport. We visited Cheddar Gorge and Wells."

"We had an absolutely perfect stay at Liz and Richard's B&B and left with our stomachs full of yummy scones/cake and a bag of freshly cut apples from the garden. Great short weekend away from London, very conveniently located for our visit to Cheddar Gorge. The Railway Inn was also great for dining as recommended. The room and bathroom were spotless and the linen crisp and gorgeous."

"From the moment four of us arrived at different times and from different directions we all experienced levels of hospitality well above expectations. All the usual aspects of Stonebridge would merit a very good review in themselves (i.e. lovely house and decor, comfortable beds with good linen, towels, nice bathrooms) but it was the high level of consideration and the warmth of our hosts' personalities that really made our stay very special. Finally we have to mention the wonderful tea (homemade cakes, scones and bread) as well as the varied and great breakfasts. We intend to visit again."

"This was easily one of the loveliest B&B experiences we have ever had. Beautiful property, idyllic setting, ten star hosts and a gorgeous breakfast. We were genuinely sorry when we had to head home to London. Highly recommended for couples or singles looking for a peaceful and charming stay."

"We had the most wonderful stay at Stonebridge. Liz and Richard are simply delightful hosts. They couldn't have done more to make us feel at home, we were a party of 6, (two children aged 12 and 9) and it was simply perfect for us all. Extremely comfortable accommodation, the food was worthy of a write up on its own! We would highly recommend and hope to return some day."

"Mr & Mrs Aarndt, were such fantastic hosts. We stayed here with our family for one night, after a wedding close by. You could not have asked for more friendly & sociable hosts. The accommodation with all its finishing touches was amazing, and breakfast was more than you could ask for. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay."

"We have stayed in many B and Bs but Stonebridge was outstanding and far in front of all the others. Lovely warm sitting room to greet us, huge very comfortable bed with all the extras that you have at home. As for the food – dinner and breakfast were both outstanding."

"A return visit. A fantastic 2 night stay with the same wonderful hospitality from Liz and Richard. Comfortable and very well presented room with a fantastic private snug complete with roaring woodburner: bliss! In addition to Liz's outstanding breakfast, we also had an evening meal which was just as delicious. Perfect Sawdays experience; we will be back!"

"We had a wonderful stay in Richard and Liz’s lovely home. The accommodation was delightful in our double room, we couldn’t have asked for more. In the evening we enjoyed sitting in front of the log-burning stove in our little private sitting room, browsing through the interesting books. Liz cooked a delicious evening meal and breakfast for us. Nothing was too much trouble and we appreciated their warm welcome and hospitality. Absolutely excellent. "

"Perfect! What a find! Stonebridge B&B is ideally placed between the SW and the North close to Junction 21 of M5. The accommodation of attractive bedroom, modern bathroom and sitting room is ideal, with fresh flowers in all rooms. A warm welcome awaits, being offered afternoon tea on arrival. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and hearty breakfast with fruit and vegetables from their own garden. We have high hopes of returning."

"Such a lovely place. The welcome is just that " friendly and welcoming" - the gin and tonic hit the spot !. You could not get better food in a restaurant and the room with bathroom modern and really clean. Will stay there again"

"Lovely bedrooms, impressive bathrooms, wood burners to keep us cosy in November, also superb breakfasts. Liz and Richard were wonderfully welcoming without being intrusive and we enjoyed staying there with our three children (10, 12, 14) for 2 nights. Liz's cakes in the afternoon were an unexpected bonus. It was also really nice to have our own front door. We enjoyed a circular walk around Cheddar gorge nearby and visited the SS Great Britain in Bristol. Liz and Richard lent us the maps we needed for the walk and were very helpful with information about things to do. Very much recommended."

"This is a real find. The owners Richard and Liz could not have been more hospitable and friendly, the rooms were beautifully kept and you had access to your own living room with a real log fire. We had a very enjoyable 2 nights there and would highly recommend anyone who needs a stopping off point enroute to Devon and Cornwall to stay here. The best for last: Breakfast. Just the best. Absolutely delicious. They even do evening meals that you can book in advance. We were too late arriving on Friday and at a wedding on the Saturday, but am planning to go back and sample the food!"

"We stayed for three nights at Liz & Richard's wonderful B & B. What a relaxing welcome we had after a frustrating journey from London. Tea & scones were enjoyed in the lovely dining room that is for their guests. Later we sat in the garden with a glass of wine while Liz cooked a lovely meal for us. Breakfasts were superb and the whole experience made for a wonderful weekend. Thoroughly recommend Stonebridge B & B to anyone wanting to enjoy a really special experience."

"Stonebridge hs set a standard which other B&B's would be hard pressed to equal. Liz & Richard were superb hosts. Their warm welcome started a most enjoyable 4-day stay with two friends. The comfortable well appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms were ideal. The breakfasts and dinners were beautifull cooked and presented, each meal was a gourmet experience. We highly recommend this delightful B&B in its lovely grounds and well placed for enjoying the magnificent Somerset counrside and visiting many places of interest. "

"What a wonderful B&B! Liz and Richard were the perfect hosts, so warm and welcoming. Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable, with the welcome addition of our own private living area. The setting is very pretty and the gardens are immaculate. The attention to detail was very much appreciated; from the homemade treats on arrival and the delicious breakfasts through to the robes and complimentary toiletries, it almost felt like a boutique hotel. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer."

"After a long week followed by a long drive we were lucky enough to find ourselves in the capable, charming and immensely likeable hands of Richard and Liz. We had come from a week staying at the Hilton in London and although lovely, was not a patch on our single night at Stonebridge. Great food, hame made bread, our own wood burner and a bedroom and en-suite I wish we had back home. We'll go whenever we are passing and so should you. "
March 2013
"We greatly enjoyed all aspects of our stay. We arrived to find the fire lit in our private lounge and tea and home-made cake served. Our room was pleasingly furnished and had an excellent new bath-room. Breakfast and dinner on the two nights we stayed were beautifully cooked and presented. Liz and Richard were charming and helpful hosts."

"We had a lovely weekend stay at Stonebridge, Liz and Richard are wonderful host, you know its different when welcomed and escorted into the house under Richards large umbrella. Tea and super homemade cakes prepared by Liz settled us in. Two well furnished bedrooms and parlour equipped with a log burner were ours to enjoy for the weekend. Both en-suite bathrooms fitted out to a very good standard. One bedroom is on the 1st floor accessed via a staircase in keeping with the house, safe but watch your head when going up or down. We ate locally on the Saturday, taking dinner at Stonebridge on the Sunday evening. We were asked to select in advance from a varied menu, of three courses, selecting from a choice of three for each. Liz then prepared a beautiful meal for us to enjoy that evening, varying from wild mushrooms on brioche toast to a twice baked crab soufflé for starters, Fillet of pork stroganoff and roast chicken with lemon, rosemary and garlic for main followed by a gorgeous lemon posset and a chocolate tart for dessert, finished off with fair-trade coffee and tea. Stonebridge is well placed for visiting the many attractions in the area. We opted for SS Great Britain and Tyntsfield (NT). There was even a guide book for the SS Great Britain on a shelf in the bedroom, another nice touch. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. It was excellent value and we will certainly be back to stay and visit the area again. Whilst Liz and Richard are new to Sawday they are upholding the standards and ethos many of us have enjoyed staying at a Sawday registered locations over the years."
