A country house with scrumptious food, charming hosts and croquet on the lawn. Liz and Richard give you scones and tea, and your own independent wing of their listed house. You have two pretty bedrooms (one up, one down) with country furniture and super bathrooms. In winter, a wood-burner keeps your little sitting room cosy; in summer, laze in a sea of flowers. You feast on local eggs and homemade bread and jams for breakfast; Liz cooks memorable dinners too with home-grown veg. Just off the village road, it’s close to Bristol airport, Wells – and the M5, so the perfect pit-stop if you’re on your way to Devon or Cornwall.

Had the most delightful, relaxing stay at Liz and Richard’s lovely house. So enjoyed the log burner in the snug, Liz cooked a delicious 3 course meal for us and our parents and laid a beautiful table. We all felt so at home, welcome and just the right level of attentiveness from our charming hosts. Liz made the best soda bread we’ve ever tasted and breakfast the following morning was superb. Truly a rare gem!

What a truly lovely stay my colleague and I had at Stonebridge. From the moment we arrived we were looked after by Liz and Richard; homemade cake and tea on arrival, fresh flowers on the table and in our rooms and (really important!) very comfy beds. Our gorgeous rooms were thoughtfully put together & so much attention to detail including magazines, water, and lovely products to use. Breakfast was perfect; freshly squeezed juice, fresh fruit platter, cereal, and great choice of cooked options and Liz's homemade walnut bread was to die for. So much more relaxing than a corporate hotel!

We had a lovely relaxing stay with Richard & Liz. It was a real home from home. Breakfast was wonderful and afternoon tea most welcome. It was lovely to have our own lounge with wood burner, we were made to feel very welcome.

From the moment we arrived we were treated more as old friends than paying guests. Richard and Liz are a delightful double act. We had booked dinner for our first night which was excellent, cooked by Liz and served by Richard. Our room was extremely comfortable, and we had the use of a small lounge with a wood burning stove. Unlike most b and b's we had our own key and were able to come and go when we wanted. We thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed at Stonebridge in Banwell in Somerset with Liz and Richard last weekend. They made us so welcome and provided a number of extra details which made our stay particularly memorable and special - for example, log fires in the sitting room, afternoon tea on arrival. Breakfast and accommodation were all excellent. We have stayed at a number of Sawdays bed and breakfast places over the years but this recent experience does stand out as a highlight.

Highly recommended, very welcoming, delicious food beautifully presented, lovely bedroom and bathroom, can’t wait to return.

We received a lovely warm welcome from Liz and Richard. Everything about our stay was relaxing, they made it so easy to melt right into your own space in their house. Our evening meal and breakfast was both generous and delicious. And to top it all I think you would go a long way to find home-made scones as good as Liz's! Don't stay in a hotel, stay here. You won't regret it.

1st class furniture and fittings. Impeccable cleanliness. Delicious & abundant food. Extra offers of food and advice. Amazingly attentive, sensitive, well-informed and exceedingly kind hosts. An attractive 'home'. Will re-visit with certainty.

Richard and Liz were incredibly attentive and charming hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble . The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms luxurious and spotless . Most delicious tea and a lit Woodburning stove in our own cosy sitting room welcomed us on our arrival despite our lateness . Breakfast was first class and we much appreciated helpful suggestions about day’s activities including a lovely headland walk on sand bay / point .

Yet again a wonderful two day break. Nothing was too much trouble for our charming hosts. Comfortable rooms including our own sitting room and woodburning stove. Food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend for a short break or even a departure point for Bristol airport. We visited Cheddar Gorge and Wells.

Debbie, Launceston

We had a wonderful couple of days at Richard and Liz's B & B. They couldn't have been more welcoming and afternoon teas and breakfasts were outstanding.

Belinda, Winchester

We had an absolutely perfect stay at Liz and Richard's B&B and left with our stomachs full of yummy scones/cake and a bag of freshly cut apples from the garden. Great short weekend away from London, very conveniently located for our visit to Cheddar Gorge. The Railway Inn was also great for dining as recommended. The room and bathroom were spotless and the linen crisp and gorgeous.

From the moment four of us arrived at different times and from different directions we all experienced levels of hospitality well above expectations. All the usual aspects of Stonebridge would merit a very good review in themselves (i.e. lovely house and decor, comfortable beds with good linen, towels, nice bathrooms) but it was the high level of consideration and the warmth of our hosts' personalities that really made our stay very special. Finally we have to mention the wonderful tea (homemade cakes, scones and bread) as well as the varied and great breakfasts. We intend to visit again.

Ruth, A village!

I cannot recommend this place enough! Liz & Richard are beyond friendly & go out of there way to make sure you have a comfortable stay! Everything was of a high standard- especially the breakfast which was superb! If we are back in the area, we will definitely be returning!

This was easily one of the loveliest B&B experiences we have ever had. Beautiful property, idyllic setting, ten star hosts and a gorgeous breakfast. We were genuinely sorry when we had to head home to London. Highly recommended for couples or singles looking for a peaceful and charming stay.

We have stayed in many B and Bs but Stonebridge was outstanding and far in front of all the others. Lovely warm sitting room to greet us, huge very comfortable bed with all the extras that you have at home. As for the food – dinner and breakfast were both outstanding.

We stayed for three nights at Liz & Richard's wonderful B & B. What a relaxing welcome we had after a frustrating journey from London. Tea & scones were enjoyed in the lovely dining room that is for their guests. Later we sat in the garden with a glass of wine while Liz cooked a lovely meal for us. Breakfasts were superb and the whole experience made for a wonderful weekend. Thoroughly recommend Stonebridge B & B to anyone wanting to enjoy a really special experience.

Liz and Richard Annesley were wonderful hosts and we felt nothing was too much trouble. Dinner as well as breakfast was outstanding and the rooms comfortable. It made all the difference having our own little sitting room.

Liz and Richard made us extremely welcome, the rooms were a delight, very comfortable. The food was delicious,Liz's cooking is superb. I would recommend Stonebridge to anyone.
