A fabulous couple of nights at Swallow Barn. Penny and Paul were perfect hosts with every little detail taken into consideration. Felt very spoilt indeed.

Ian and vanessa, Bisbrooke

Marvellous in every way. Myriad small touches that make you feel special and privileged and loved. Don’t hesitate, just GO. Perfect setting, lovely views, beautiful decor and very thoughtful hosts. Can’t wait to revisit.

What a fantastic weekend me and my partner have just had at Swallow Barn! From the moment we arrived we was made to feel so welcomed and at home. The surroundings are breathtaking with beautiful views and seating areas to wind back and enjoy the peaceful country side. The room we stayed in was so cosy and had been renovated to a very high standard it had everything we needed with lovely added extras to make our trip special. We can not thank Penny and Paul enough! Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful stay at Swallow Barn. Penny and Paul were extremely welcoming and accommodating - the cream tea on arrival was a lovely surprise (and really delicious!) The room itself was perfect - we had everything we needed and if we required the odd thing Penny/Paul were very quick to help us out. We really enjoyed the generous breakfast provided. Everything was very well thought out, it was the perfect country getaway. The hill at the bottom of garden made for a perfect toboggan hill which we made the most of during our snowy stay there! Thank you Penny and Paul!

Homely and welcoming. Room very clean. We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much indeed. Superb selection of fresh breakfasts treats prepared to order. Joan was a lovely host.

Dave, Abingdon

Swallow Barn is the most delightful luxurious accommodation with glorious views, set on the edge of the village, beside the church. We have just stayed two nights at this very welcoming B and B. Our room was comfortable and cosy with every imaginable extra, all very thoughtfully and tastefully created. Penny recommended dinner at The Talbot Arms in nearby Mells and what an excellent choice that was. Delicious, hot tasty fare in front of a crackling log fire - a perfect pub.

If you’re looking for somewhere special to stay - Swallow Barn is the place! Penny’s warm welcome and her cream-tea with stunning views, was the perfect start to my birthday weekend. Our large room was beautifully decorated and Penny’s special touches made it most luxurious. Breakfast is delivered in a hamper overflowing with goodies. Penny booked us restaurants, taxis and suggested places to visit. We loved Hauser & Wirth at Durslade Farm - wonderful gardens, an art exhibition, restaurant and even live music when we were visiting. We stayed for 3 nights but could easily have stayed longer!

Mary, Solihull

We had a lovely weekend at Swallow Barn. The room we had was gorgeous and the hospitality shown was 5 star! Penny's scones are delicious, the breakfast delightful - and all beautifully created and delivered to your room . Nothing is too much trouble and it all adds up to a very nice few days away. We thoroughly recommend a stay : )

Julia, Southampton

Had a lovely stay at Swallow Barn. The rooms were fantastic with so much attention to detail. Spacious, comfortable and blissfully relaxing it truly was a treat. The host Penny could not do enough for us she also gave great tips on places to eat nearby, we enjoyed a lovely evening in the Talbot inn. Highly recommend to anybody wanting a short break very close to Bath.

Paulina, Southampton

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Swallow Barn. The room was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed. We were welcomed with a delicious cream tea, and then drove to Frome, which was a quaint market town, and only 5mins away. Penny and Paul were excellent hosts, with Paul offering to drive us to the local train station as we were spending a day in Bath, and Penny pulled out all the stops to decorate the room with a Valentine's Day theme, at little extra cost. The breakfasts were great, but if we had one suggestion it would be to perhaps vary it a little between the days.

Holly, Cambridge

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Swallow Barn. It’s in a beautiful, peaceful spot in Buckland Dinham, where you can go walking straight from the door on the Macmillan Way. We enjoyed a lovely welcome with a cream tea the afternoon we arrived and dinner was booked for us in advance at a local gastropub. The breakfast hamper was perfect, with tea , fresh orange juice, croissants, yoghurt, muesli and fruit and was brought to our room. There are many lovely touches in the room that means it feels very luxurious and a real treat. Thoroughly recommend staying at Swallow Barn, thanks Penny!

Ros, Thames ditton

A lovely place run by lovely people. Being disabled I appreciated the easy access and the quiet, restful atmosphere. Although we were in the room with a step down into it (late booking) there was alternative access around the back. The room was wheelchair friendly, although we didn’t test out the wet room access ( a right angle turn) as I walk over short distances, but it looked fine. More than anything, the owners’ helpful and accommodating attitude made this an easy and relaxing visit.

Alison, Plymouth

This is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. Penny & Paul have given so much thought about how a B&B should be run and the result is a perfect hideaway, beautiful attention to detail, amazing views and a delicious fresh breakfast. We have previously stayed at "The Best B&B in the World" and this is much better. So many great touches from the tea on arrival to the 5* fit out. I really would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, fresh air and country walks literally out of your back door. Plus the Talbot Inn is just down the road for an incredible meal.

Nick, London

A unique place to stay due to Penny and Paul's friendly hospitality, very comfortable accommodation and beautiful location which are all outstanding. Breakfast was served in the middle of the meadow amidst beautiful views in every direction.

Sue, Wilmslow

What an absolute gem of a place with the most warm and welcoming hosts! My husband, our two young sons and I stayed here for 2 nights. The accommodation is beautifully built and decorated. Five star luxury quality but little children are welcomed! The garden is large with glorious planting, a vivid wild flower meadow, BBQ facilities, a fantastic array of children's toys, a shepherd's hut and fire pit! We slept well and awoke to a yummy breakfast in a hamper delivered to our terrace. Longleat Safari is a must see and dinner at Castello's in Frome was excellent! We will return & recommend you!

Laura, Reigate

Such a delightful time staying at Swallow Barn. The rooms are utterly beautiful, Paul and Penny wonderfully friendly and helpful, the location picturesque and peaceful, the separate entrance way really handy, and the little thoughtful touches really special. Already planning when we can go back!

Liz, London

We had a wonderful one night stay at Swallow Barn on our way from Cornwall back to our home. Penny and Paul were super helpful before we arrived, providing directions and recommendations for dinners locally. The rooms were gorgeous, with thoughtful additions like homemade shortbread and binoculars for bird watching. We ate our breakfast in their meadow, in the sun which was just terrific! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

Lexi, Nottingham

We stayed for two nights and we were overjoyed with our stay.! We had such a beautiful room, spacious and cozy. It's also conveniently located, near Stonehenge and Bath which makes it easy to sight-see. Thank you for making these Canadians feel like family and we will be back for sure!
