This luxurious, ultra-modern beach house is on the foreshore of Camber Sands with the most amazing views out to sea. You park in the nearby car park and it’s a 400-yard walk along the beach to your award-winning house: all wood and glass with dunes behind and a big deck in front. The easy, open-plan living space downstairs has squashy sofas, wood-burner, Sky TV, Sonos sounds and a well-equipped black marble-topped kitchen area. The deck has all you need for sociable, al fresco meals; fairy lights up above add a friendly glow. Sleek bedrooms (two down, two up) have cool linen, free-standing baths or wet room; the super-king in the front has a little balcony and you wake to that breath-taking seascape through the floor to ceiling windows. You’ll find a basket of coffee, tea, milk, crisps, prosecco, soft drinks and homemade cake; logs for the wood-burner and charcoal/lighters for the barbecue are free; children can head off for sandy fun with the buckets and spades. There are numerous festivals in Rye: kite, jazz, literary – even a scallop one! Further afield you can visit Chapel Down vineyard, Dungeness and Hastings.
