The Experience
On top of a peaceful hill, a short stroll from Eastbourne, find tip-top B&B in an 18th-century house with an interesting history – ask Wendy! Now it is her home, and you will be treated to home-baked bread, delicious tea time cakes and scrummy jams – on fine days you can take it outside. Creamy carpeted, bright and sunny bedrooms, all with views over the lovely walled garden, create a mood of relaxed indulgence and are full of thoughtful touches: dressing gowns, DVDs, your own fridge. Breakfasts are superb: this is a very spoiling, nurturing place.

The atmosphere at Ocklynge Manor is relaxed and welcoming. Our room was absolutely lovely in all respects, and the garden is beautiful, an oasis of calm. As soon as we'd settled we found tea and delicious lemon cake waiting for us in the summerhouse. What a start to a two-night break in Eastbourne! Wendy does everything to make your stay at Ocklynge Manor a happy, memorable experience. Needless to say, breakfast is excellent, Wendy's home-made jams delicious! For us, the best B&B guest house we've ever stayed!

The Best B&B in Eastbourne. David and Wendy were the perfect hosts for a unique stay at their wonderful Manor House. There was absolutely nothing I could fault them on, the breakfast was amazing, homemade bread and jam together with the warmth of the log fire. The whole experience lead us to rebook in May this year!

All the superlatives apply here. An exceptionally warm welcome by Wendy set the tone quickly followed by delicious cake and tea served from a silver pot in an upstairs viewing lounge overlooking a splendid, quiet oasis of a garden. I've recently retired from providing 5* star accommodation myself, and I could not fault everything that Ocklynge has to offer. Without my asking, I was ferried to a restaurant for dinner and on the way Wendy did a 'recky' to ensure I was familiar with the location of my meeting. Ocklynge is beautifully furnished, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. A gem.
