Scallop Cottage

We had the most incredible weekend in Rye at Scallop Cottage. The cottage has been beautifully done and the location is amazing, on a very cute little row set back from the street and right in the heart of town. It's easy to park close by and you can walk everywhere really easily. Ellie gave us some great recommendations to help us make the most of our time - we did picnics on the beach from a local deli and then went out for a couple of amazing dinners - and overall it felt like we'd been away much longer than a weekend. Can't wait to go back.

Scallop Cottage is heaven, simply. A perfectly designed, incredibly located bolthole for exploring Rye. We'll be back in winter for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at Scallop Cottage. It was beautifully decorated and had a lovely front garden to enjoy the sunshine from. The perfect little bolthole to explore Rye from, we really enjoyed our time there. The owner, Eleanor, was so kind and helpful.

Scallop cottage was so charming! The interior was decorated so beautifully and it was extremely clean and felt more like a home than a rental. It is in the heart or Rye near fabulous cafes, restaurants and shops. We definitely will be back again for this prime location, dreamy interiors and Eleanor was a fantastic host full of recs and extremely communicative!

We spend the most perfect weekend at Scallop Cottage - we couldn't have loved it more. The cottage could not have been more perfectly situated - its right in the centre of the town but tucked away down a quiet passage. Rye is a delight and we will 100% be back!

Scallop Cottage is a lovely small cottage centrally situated, convenient for the station and everything else in Rye but it is still peaceful. It is equipped with many things that we have not found in other self-catering properties, and is a perfect base for a short break or longer holiday. Ellie's recommendations were all excellent, and we discovered plenty of other places to eat. We had a wonderful holiday!

Scallop Cottage is a very well located and comfortable place to stay in Rye with good restaurants, cafes and delis just around the corner. We very much enjoyed excursions to the Kent and East Sussex vineyards and cycle rides along the coast.

Scallop Cottage is lovely, stylish and cosy. It is the perfect location amongst the cobble streets in Rye. Fresh flowers were a lovely touch. Ellie’s restaurant recommendations are spot on. Just very relaxing. ..

A huge thank you to Ellie for all her help with arranging my visit to Scallop Cottage and for such a lovely welcome. The house is in a perfect position in the middle of town but so quiet and peaceful and perfect for getting around town with ease, close to the buses which go to the beach and two minutes from the train station. The house was so cosy, clean and comfortable. I hope I can visit again.

A delightful cottage that more than lived up to expectations. Stylish and cosy; tastefully furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The position is ideal with the lovely garden providing an ideal spot for relaxing. In regards to parking, we used the very reasonable station car park which can be booked online.

Scallop Cottage was absolutely amazing, we came for our honeymoon and were so happy we did, it has been finished beautifully, its rare you get a place so nice and clean. The location is perfect, right in the center of town with easy access to all the local cafes, pubs, restaurants and a short drive from some fantastic beaches. Ellie was a great host and very helpful! We would love to come back.

I was thrilled to be the first guest at Scallop Cottage in Rye. There are no other words to describe it other than ‘it is a dream’! From the moment Eleanor met me to walk me through the cobbled passageway and show me round I knew I would fall in love with it. Eleanor is a wonderful and charming host and her own love of this family cottage, which she has recently renovated with such care, feels like a true home. Everything was immaculate and her attention to detail in furnishings, bedding, the bathroom, fresh flowers, books to read and the pretty garden with its summer house was perfect.
