The
Experience

The heart of the village is steeped in history, and so is Pevensey Bay; it’s here that the Normans landed. The house-lined coastal strip is less to write home about, but this beach house will blow you away. Originating from the 1920s, now timber-clad and awash with light, its living space is such that the moment you enter, the views steal the show… the never-ending beach and the rolling sea are spectacular whatever the weather. Owners Jane and Craig stay as often as they can and have introduced delights from far-flung travels; the place exudes character. Find warmth, colour, texture and recycled wood, in a decor that is modern-rustic. Upstairs is just as good, with a huge view from the master bedroom, and a balcony perfect for morning yoga. Stock up at the mini market in Pevensey Bay, enjoy the delightful kitchen, spill onto the summer terrace. There’s a pub in the village, a restaurant on the beach (the Moorings) and at low tide the beach is sandy – dogs will adore. Beds are topped with feather duvets, the upstairs bathroom has a Moroccan basin, and you drift off to the sound of the sea.
