A well-loved house, hugely comfortable. Expect meat and game from the nearby estate and fruit from the owners’ farm. Wholly delightful

Beautiful within, handsome without. Subtle colours, oak beams and lovely old pieces: Jane has achieved a seductive combination of comfort and style. A flagstoned hallway and an old rocking horse, ticking clocks, beeswax and fresh flowers speak of a much-loved house. Dinners are superb: meat and game from the Ragley Estate, delicious fruits in season. Bedrooms have a soft, warm elegance and garden views while bathrooms are spotless and welcoming. It’s all wholly delightful and worth a serious detour as is the enchanting garden that flows from one space to another, studded with rare and interesting plants. It is also divided by a wing of the house, so you pass under an open-sided brick and timber barn to cross from one side to the other. Beautiful arrangements of plants in pots and a square, formal pond reveal Jane’s artistic talents. There is always another corner to peek around and plenty of height: a pretty gazebo covered in wisteria, weathered deer-fencing screens, a large pergola the length of one wall. Green-fingered Richard is MD of nearby Hillers, an award-winning fruit farm, café, shop and display garden.

This is a real gem. Such comfortable beds and beautifully decorated. Richard and Jane are most hospitable hosts and Richard runs an amazing farmshop nearby ensuring delicious and generous breakfasts. One of the highlights of our stay was Janes garden. A profusion of Spring bulbs in a most artistic setting. We will definitely be going back.

The 27th&28th March were the last time we stayed with Jane and Richard, but we have been a number of times which indicates the friendly, quality of their welcome and kind attention to their guests. We have dinner which has always been excellent. My wife has an intolerance to certain items which has been carefully considered on every occasion. The house is extremely comfortable with all that you need for a most pleasant stay. We will certainly be hoping they have a vacancy for us again later this year.

What lovely people - home from home, truly comfortable beds and fab food too! Jane and Richard really opened their home to us and we couldn't fault the presentation of the room. We used the garden room quite a bit too which is away from the house giving us lovely garden views and private space, with underfloor heating too which helped make the stay top marks! Thanks to you both.

All you could wish for. This is a marvellous B&B. Friendly hosts, warm atmosphere, lovely countryside position and food beautifully cooked and presented, using produce from their own farm shop. Very comfortable beds too.

What a delightful experience we had staying with Jane and Richard. Their welcome is tangible. A pot of welcome tea and a freshly baked cake. dinner was what dreams are made of. The double room was simply gorgeous, from the huge bed to the fresh coffee and milk delivered daily. The gardens are sumptuous and two nights was not long enough. We will definitely return to experience hospitality at its finest. Sue and Suzanne
